  1. Pretty sure Gus was born in WA, so would that mean he would play for the WA team?
  2. I think team will be: In: TMac, Harmes, Langdon & Tomlinson Out: Weid, Melksham, Dunstan and May Give Salo a week in the VFL to get some touch back and then he can come in the following week. B: Hunt Tomlinson Lever HB: Rivers Petty Brayshaw C: Langdon Oliver Jordon HF: Fritsch TMac Harmes F: Pickett Brown Neal-Bullen R: Gawn Petracca Viney Int: Sparrow Jackson Bowey Spargo Sub: Bedford
  3. Why? He's a father son so we have first dibs. Plus we will likely be finishing top 8 next year so if he goes top 10 we essentially get that for a (hopefully) pick 18 plus some change.
  4. Just finished listened to this and it was an amazing interview. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't listened to Dyl & Friends before go and find this podcast. It got me emotional at times.
  5. He looks to be putting on some genuine size. He also looks quite a bit taller than Tomlinson who is listed at 194cm... so could be pushing 197/8cm
  6. Given their dearth of young talent this would be a smart move.
  7. It's also all retrospective. The Brisbane Lions team is viewed that way because they won 3 straight flags. If we do that then they have to look at the players in a similar light. I actually believe our midfield of Gawn, Trac, Oliver and Viney would challenge Keating, Voss, Lappin and Black. Would be an enticing match up. Imagine Voss and Oliver going at the same ball.....
  8. What an absolute load of BS. They also aren't mentioning potential 'AAA' grade players in Pickett, Jackson & Petty. Plus guys who aren't far off in Salem, Langdon & Fritsch.
  9. Oh and just noticed that for this amazing attacking side, they have actually scored 6 less points than us for the year but let in an extra 233.
  10. Carlton are playing the best they can play. They are extremely reliant on Curnow and McKay, so if they don't kick a bag then they are less likely to win. We rely on no one player, that's the difference. Plus their defensive work is pretty average. I would actually say when up and going the Lions forwards are the most dangerous. But as we have seen good defence often beats a good offence.
  11. Warms the cockles
  12. Well I'd put Hibbo on Dusty. I'd make sure Petracca only takes set shots and I'd give Willie a bottle of gatorade prior to the game. Problem solved.
  13. This list is a bit misleading as you've decided to not include guys like: Tom McDonald - 194cm Charlie Curnow - 192cm Dan McStay - 196cm Jack Darling - 191cm Taylor Walker - 194cm Jack Reiwoldt - 195cm Brody Mihocek - 192cm They all have had great impacts on games of football
  14. Pretty pi$$ poor in my mind. Deserved to be challenged on the ground the tackle was not unreasonable given the circumstances.
  15. I'm pretty sure there was another run down tackle that happened last year resulting in concussion that was overturned. Pretty sure it was Mitch Duncan who was tackled, but can't remember who the tackler was. Hope we go to the tribunal.
  16. Gawny has brought it up a few times lately.... looks like he is enjoying making Gus squirm.
  17. Just read that Carlton are now into Amon & Brayshaw.... Given the amount they have spent on blokes like Jack Martin, Adam Saad and Zac Williams it would amaze me if they have much salary cap.... Must be going back to the old brown paper bag days.
  18. I actually love the 4:35pm timeslot. Can have lunch in Richmond, have a few beers and then head to the G. Then game is finished by 7pm so still get another few hours out or can get home by 8pm rather than 11pm. It makes sense to hold a Grand Final at this timeslot as you will get more viewers on TV and the overall spectacle will be better with light shows etc. I understand the traditional views, but this is where the AFL is headed and the more money to grow the game the better.
  19. Yeah 100% agree. Hopefully we go out and find a development ruckman, either from another club or through the draft. I know we signed Chandler last year, but wouldn't be surprised if he seeks a trade at the end of the year and we may be fine to do it to free up cap. Oskar Baker will likely be delisted. Assume we will keep Deakyn Smith, AMW, McVee all on the list. Wonder if they will also look at a new deal for Steve May to spread out is salary and add extra cap space.
  20. Well I'd say Hibbo and Melksham will retire at years end. Not sure what they are both on salary terms but will free up a little bit cap. Majak Daw may also retire, but he wouldn't be on much and we would have to find a back up ruckman somewhere.
  21. How good was that! Love what this club is doing and the way we conduct ourselves. So proud to be a Dees fan and will be for life.
  22. In a recent interview Pert mentioned there is 12,000 MCC members who identify as supporting the Dees but don't have the reciprocal membership. If we can get all of those setup as members we suddenly have 70,000....
  23. Surprised Trent Rivers isn't in your best 22. I think he is very important to our structure and has the ability to play on both smalls and mediums. In my opinion he is in the side and one of Jordon or Sparrow is the medi-sub.
