You just have to have faith that the admin and leaders don't allow those dead hooker moments to happen. Or if it does they smash it down ASAP. It's a balancing act. If we bring a kid to the club that has the ball on a string, but is an out and out moron, what do you do? Cut him loose and watch him win flags for other teams or back yourself to get the best from him without it screwing the rest of the team? And look I don't really know but I'd go with the later. Good teams can do that. Bad teams can't. I'd like to think that despite last year, we are actually a good team.

Talent always beats the DH policy. In any club. If you are a Buddy type you can get caught with a dead hooker in the boot of the car and the club will try to cover it up, but if you are # 36 on a list and smoke a joint then out you go. If Murray joins us and sneezes the wrong way he will be booted. If Bennell joins us and shows he can play then he will be allowed to sneeze many times before we boot him. If Gawn or Clarry were found with dead hookers we'd hire lawyers for them. The way it is, always has been, and always will be, right or wrong.

Flash is... well Flash. Changed the game. Well deserved. Wheels was very underrated outside the MFC. One of the best small defenders I've seen in my almost 50 years of watching the game. Well deserved too, and I'm glad he has been given that recognition.

I think we stuffed Cale. He looked the goods in his first 40-50 games. then he got hurt and the club turned toxic... so bye bye Cale. I don't look at it as a bad pick, rather a waste of good talent.

Why would we give up so much for 8 to then downgrade it? 3 I can see us maybe doing something with 3 if the offer is good enough, but we payed overs for 8 for a reason.

If he is best available at our pick then you take him. You have to back yourself. Rationalising defeat before it happens won't get us anywhere

Don't be surprised if we don't bid. Our pick 3 will only be bid if we want him over all others. I don't think we do, and if GWS says take him we've shot ourselves in the foot. In any event Adelaide and Sydney will bid so it's not really our concern... unless we really want him. And agreed on the ruckman thing... I'd rather us take a rookie punt than use a top pick that has... maybe... a 10% chance of making it.

I don't know if Kemp is the one, but I think we are really looking at someone at 8. I think if they are gone we might go talking during the live trade for (say) a couple of mid teen picks. That said I hope we don't. I hope that we do what we have done over that last couple of trade / draft periods - know what we want and make it happen. I think we have a better team and admin than the average supporter gives us credit for. 2019 was a blip for many reasons, so I'll back the team to be better and smarter in all parts of the game from now.

I was hit by a car riding my bike last Jan, and I can say that these things are really [censored]. I get sad when I shouldn't, angry over nothing things, despondent over little things. And this is from someone that never took life seriously... always the joker and the clown. But it can be worked out. With the right people around me things are getting better. Not perfect, and they probably won't ever be, but at least I know that it is not me, but rather me just not processing things the right way, and that means I can take a breath and let whatever it is wash over me. Best of it all Paddy. The game is really a very minor thing in life

More a mid or HFF than a small forward. OK-ish but I'm not that sure he fills a need

Having fast players is great when you don't have the ball, or trying to open up (and I hate this phrase, but you know what I mean) the fat side. But mostly having quick thinkers will win the day. Hawthorn wasn't the fastest team when they their flags, but their kicking would leave you stranded. Geelong ditto, but they would do it in handballs until the world opened up for them. I'll take a team of slow of foot but quick of mind players over a team of Hunts. Speed is nice, but it will never beat talent

I think that is really what it is. He kicks 2.1 in a game then he has had a good game (with the running etc). He kicks 0.3 then he has had a bad one. All sport is decided on moments and millimeters. He has to make them count. My take is that he is a good player that has a bad case of the yips.

Rather roll the dice on a cheap Bennell then an over priced Martin or a DH like Murray - tho a cheap Murray might be worth a roll too

Not sure. It just seems to be that everyone is assuming that it's a given. But what if it isn't? Who of the two would we want or need?

Without really knowing I wonder if he was offloaded because he just wouldn't follow team rules. Goodies 'Frostball' comments make me think he went off sailing by himself one time too many.

So what happens if GC don't take the expected 1 and 2?
