  1. I'm hoping we have zero interest in him but want Carlscum to pay waaaaaaaaay overs for a so so player
  2. OK. So he is there and we can make a play... if we want... but do we want him? Does he fill a need? Is he worth the coin? He strikes me as a ball tickler. Big on potential but not much on action. As it is spring and racing season I'd say 'prefer others'. Let Carlton pay overs for someone that won't make a difference to the team, and may cost them a good player come next contract signing time. Edit - and pretend we are going to go hard at him to drive up his price
  3. I liked it. B plus I guess. We got what we wanted, and did it early. We obviously are backing ourselves to bounce back next year, and don't rate our chances of our next years pick being close to what 8 this year will bring. I don't know enough about the kids to know who we'd be looking at, but I think we are pretty switched on with that these days so I'd expect at least one of them to be a very good player for us.
  4. OK. I must have misheard or misunderstood. I thought we offered a lot more.
  5. Was Elliot 7 8 or 9 hundred K? Just asking for a friend
  6. Papley... it might explain the pick 8 trade. And we have the cash as evidenced by the Elliot chase. Double and he is what we need.
  7. I agree. I was just throwing up possibilities. But some odd late deals get done every year
  8. Keep what we have. We have done well. Two top tens and promote Dunkley with pick 100 or whatever. Or (and I think he could be a dodgy pick but for nothing we might do it) for Murray
  9. Daniher >>>>> Hogan. At his best Daniher tears backlines apart. He just can't kick straight often enough
  10. The whole thing was trite, and a blow off. A couple of hundred words to satisfy the editor. Sure. We do have problems. I'm 80% convinced that last year was a combination of injuries, no pre seasons and a bit of bathwater drinking. The other 20%... dunno. but the off field moves may tell us a bit about that. But I really don't know. We have talent. We have a pretty good team looking after us. We have a game that can scare the best on our day. What we don't have is belief. I expect us to [censored] it up. As do you. And that permeates into the club. Richmond had it for years, got it right, and now they don't believe that they can get it wrong. I don't know the answer but I do know basket case is not it
  11. Putting people on your list that are [censored] is risky. Very, very risky. I've played and won flags with guys that the team hated, but they had talent. They'd get [censored] after the game and want to fight with teammates. They'd try and poke teammates wives. God I had one bloke that thought it was funny to bite a pot glass and then tell us a bouncer punched him for no reason. Nearly got a bunch of us in an all in. Thank god cooler heads prevailed. A good team can carry one... maybe... but a team like us... nah. We are just asking for an infection doing things like that. Pass. Let him play out his days being an idiot in the country league
  12. Essendon seem to be interested in Green, and want 5 as part of the Joe deal. Gives us something to play off GWS and Ess against each other
  13. Is it OK if I don't care. Good player sure, but geez the chances of getting 50 games from him was not ever looking good
  14. This is not the droid we are looking for
  15. I think the prelim hurt us more than we care to admit. A 20 point loss and things would have been hungry. That loss made us question a lot of things, no matter the voices from the club that it didn't. And yes a shocking pre-season on top of that. On our day we have a certain something. But last year was unfit players / injured players running around in an incoherent mess - filling holes they were not made for and with a game plan that was made up on butchers paper. A good preseason with clear direction from the top... and hey.. we are back in it. A bad preseason and more clear as mud ideas from the top and we are in for another decade of pain. This year will make or break a lot of things IMHO
  16. To both - sure, and I realise that my opinion is unpopular given who GWS beat, but they have guns in their side that should have been ours but for AFL gifts. And I don't think for a moment that things will return to normal after success. What will happen is that the spike of interest will drop off as they do too, and then they will be looked after again. Sydney isn't allowed to fail for that reason too (though I'm old enough to call them South, so I have no issue with that team being helped). Suns to Tassie - a bit off topic, but yes. I think the AFL now knows it put a team into a graveyard and no matter what they throw at them it will always be a failure. Hmmm The Hobart 'It's not sunny, but at least we can play football'?
  17. Have some stories about Pike. A headcase. We lost nothing getting rid of him
  18. Anyone that thinks that GWS winning is good for football is insane. They have been gifted so much at our (and other) teams expense, and will continue to do so for years. Love or hate Collingwood at least they are a real team with real history, unlike those Mc Donalds things planted in the middle of rugby land. As much as I know that another Richmond flag will bring out the munters that follow that team in droves, I hope the Tigers smash the living crap out of them and headfuck them for the next 50 years
  19. Freo get Jesse - Looking like a loss We get May - Looking like a loss Suns get King - Looks the goods but wont stay.
  20. Seemed like a clear message to the players - get fit or get ready for another year like last year.
  21. Thanks mate. All the best to you and Dec. He got to live my dream.
