  1. If he wants finals guaranteed then he'd want to lift his game or else the only finals he'll be playing in is if Box Hill are thereabouts again next year.
  2. I read with glee the twitter feeds and footy forum posts calling Martin everything under the sun this time last year. And then he re-signed. I'm not saying this is the same (or that the vitriol has reached those appalling levels) but until ink hits paper anything can happen (especially with Mitch).
  3. Heh. Maybe sacking Micky Milkshake will be their Norm Smith moment.
  4. I never understood why he needed to lie - right up to the end with his 'checking out the facilties' BS. It's not like we could have stopped him going. He was a freebie poach.
  5. Three crap players for a guy that can play (soft as butter on a summer's day, but can play). That's the dream every October - maybe without the soft bit.
  6. Yep. They can take our word.
  7. I'd be happy with handing him to another team for nothing rather than giving him to Collingwood for peanuts. And I don't want that Harry O 'I talk to the Deli Lhama and the Pope, and did I tell you how I escaped death in Brazil' LalalalaBumba at my club. Not even for free.
  8. I'm expecting a flag. I love this time of year. No reality smashing me in the face, and I can dream my little dreamy dreams.
  9. I haven't worried about one of them since round one 2007.
  10. Self inflicted wounds are always the ugliest
  11. Showed more than enough to keep me interested.
  12. I feel sorry for the kid. To get given talent other people can only dream about. but a set of brains other people can only laugh at. What a waste.
  13. That never delivered on it because he only played well when he wanted to. When the ball was in his court, to mix my metaphors and sports. And talent... yeah... well... sorta...but he came from a really bad draft. In a decent one he was #15+ and there are plenty of busts at that range. He was serviceable but never the gun we hoped for, and considering who else was around to pick from I think we did pretty well. Get #3 and #5 a year later and we're a whole different team.
  14. Nothing in it, but I hope he gets two weeks. Can't stand the little snot
  15. Heard from who? Me? The bloke at the pub? Viney? Jimmy? Jeez, I was told by Eade's sister in law that he had the Adelaide job 24 hours before Collingwood announced him as 'The sorta Malthouse replacement'.
  16. Agree. What is also disgraceful is the posters here who kick him like he was one of our far too many 'highly skilled' but no heart footballers. (not a go at you Mono - just a general observation) Jordie might not have the skills to make it into next season and beyond, but he'll never look back at his career and say 'Geez, if only I'd tried harder...' If D'landers want to put on the steel caps and kick someone then pick blokes that coast on talent rather than a G&D trier that always brings his best to the table. But, hey, like every other player on the list he's struggled with 28 coaches, 192 assistent coaches and a rudderless club, so I guess bagging someone that tries his guts out each game is fair.
  17. Keeper. Tough, has a touch of arrogance, enjoys taking the game on and some mongrel. His shortcomings care correctable. His nature is intinsic.
  18. Signed contract, fell away. Melbourne story in miniature. Nah, just joking. I was surprised and very happy to eat humble pie over this fella. I had him as a list clogger that was only doing enough to hold his spot because others needed culling first, but he looks like a real and substantial AFL player for the first time ever. Credit to him for doing the hard work, and to those that knew how to show him the way.
  19. Is he going to be worth the pick we bid for him? He'd want to be, because if we bluffed and were called on it he'd be our pick 2 or 3 (I'm fuzzy on whether a compo pick can be used or not). So the question is whether we think he'd be worth the pick or not. If he is then go for it. If he isn't then spending big to get a player we never really wanted at that priced just to spread around some butt hurt is playing with fire.
  20. Yup. He'll never look back and wonder if he could have done more. He honours the number he wears, which is a rare thing at this club these days.
  21. I'd be happy for us to play hardball and tell him to go in the draft. I know we'll lose but not a lot, but he loses the chance to pick and choose. I don't want Harry (lalalallabumbamba) O as a consolation prize. He'll be there at # 40 or the PSD anyway. Us or take the chance. [censored] any other weak kneed choice.
  22. There is if we say : we fold, too high for us You don't bid on a FS unless you are prepared to take him at the bid price.
  23. What? I'd take 2 & 3, celebrate and try to do a Dyson/Salem deal with one and get whoever the Sts didn't with the other. Brayshaw, young gun, and later 1st round pick sounds better than your plan
  24. I'd take the Pig. He can find the ball and he can kick it to his own team. We can do with some of that.
