Agreed, and then some.

Hawthorn is Hawthorn... back to back premiers and likely to grab a third. Adelaide on the other hand had a day out against an insipid North. Where they really are remains to be seen.

2015 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

Good ones. And I don't say that to be glib. The maxim that works is draft for talent, trade for position. -
Melbourne in the Media - Round 1, 2015
Uncle Fester replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Honest, brutal and very, very funny. So many great parts that it seems a shame to highlight just one. But I'll do that anyway. -
Historically 6 of the 8 teams in the 8 after 6 rounds will play in the finals, and conversely if you are not in the 8 after round 6 then you need a lot of things to go your way to make September, and even then you won't go deep into it.

Just play the effin' finals next next week!

Mine was having to work that day, so I missed watching it.

No chance. But I love that he really wants to be a part of this team.

I was going to post 'relax, we've got this' (tongue in cheek) but decided against it not wanting to over use an old joke. *sigh* Oh well, I might start a new one using Micky Maltshake as the punchline: I can't see us losing a game this year.
-
Not me. If we've had players on PEDs over the last decade then we're really doing it wrong.

What a stinking, corrupt and bloated carcuss we have running our game into the ground.
-
Yes. Both more and less.

I'm not going to waste my time looking at that click bait. The guy is a disgrace, like Barrett and Hutchy, and should be run out of town asap.

A time to sow, a time to reap, and a time to fall asleep at the wheel of your combine harvester after a 15 hour day and a bottle of Jack, and mince up your neighbour, his wife, their brood of kids and a kelpie called Max. I think I read that in the bible somewhere.

Not quite the spurt Tingles had, but I went from the smallest boy in my year 11 class in Feb to the tallest by Sept. Something around 10 inches in that time.

Turnovers (notice the plural) and fumbles killed us, not any one particular play. I agree Viney messed it up, but he was one of many in the last half. We had more than enough chances to win the game. And it's better JV learns that in a nothing practice match than in one that has 4 points riding on it. On Viney: he reminds me of a young Chunk. The Jones boy loved grabbing the ball and trying to crash packs in his first couple of years. Beat one, beat two, get caught HTB on the third. And as he matured he understood that he wasn't a big kid among little kids anymore, he was a big kid playing against big men. And so he adapted. Jack will do the same.

When does the coach start taking the blame?

Buckley does look to be in trouble, doesn't he? -
Jones is a good benchmark for him. I'm sure we all remember his early days where he'd grab the ball, break one tackle, break two and then get caught holding the ball. I used to think to myself that the kid had something, but he didn't have a clue when to accept this wasn't junior footy anymore. Well, he learnt and he learnt very well. I expect Viney will be the same.

Classy, C&B.

Happy to go a bit early on him not getting enough... and get it wrong, Boy does this kid look polished. Still young, and because of that is still learning, but a 23 yo Chris is something to look forward to.

Salem does look very good. Needs to get more of it - not that I'm worried about that right now... young kid and all - but when he has it you know it's going to put to good use.
