Was going to say the same thing. BB would be better as a 2nd ruckman. Problem is I’m not sure Gawn is ahead of Grundy ATM

Umpires are still the gold standard of absolute [censored]

Gee Fritta is a mile off. He and Pickett need to dominate the 2nd half

I am normally pretty level with emotions and perspective, but have probably had more ups and downs the last few weeks. My view is that we are slow to address areas of concern and back our system- when I think we should be adapting to trends that are unfolding in the game.. All that aside, I am going to try and put my positive hat on.. Dees to win tonight, start to build form and upset the Pies next week. Joel Smith to finally get his body right and build a block of form over 6 weeks to prove he belongs. Back talls to click and again establish themselves as the best defensive unit in the comp. Hopefully positivity brings positive results!!

I saw from Sydney, Cripps was beaten by a more agile midfield. That is the template.. Kosi to spend more time with Rivers in the middle.

All wrapped us nicely during reconciliation week. AFL have big rugs to sweep all the things under

Parker upheld for a lesser tackle. Cerra is no chance of getting off..

Opposition realised that they cannot bomb long to May, Lever and Petty. They have gone to work on using short passes and changing lanes to get shots 30-45m from goal. May and Co have no impact and our forwards need to man up and not just guard space when pushing back to defend. Collingwood will be a very bad matchup for us on their forward entries. I think many of our issues can be addressed with a change of defensive style and some personnel. We need to adapt our game to take away opposition weapons, but Goody only focuses on “our style” which is not working.

Cerra ain’t a chance of getting off that, arms pinned and slung into the ground hitting his head. Even their lawyers will have problems carrying suitcases with that amount of cash into AFL HQ.

We need to change the lineup and dynamic as we are too predictable. The taller our forwards, the more we bomb it to the goal square. Out McDonald, Harmes, Jordan, and if injured Grundy In- Smith, Woewodin, Tomlinson and Hunter. Tomlinson needs to play and on form would be ahead of Lever as a pure defender. Lever has been putrid this year with Petty being shuffled forward. We need accountability down back, not dropped chest marks.

My feeling is he might pull a Hardwick and sign off before he gets the tap on the shoulder. Recon he looks lost again, like he did in 2020. Horrible job I’d imagine
-
I actually think that we are best served by playing boundary line, safe footy atm. We have terrible foot skills and cannot defend turnovers. Collingwood are a great one on one team, going through the corridor suits them as any mistakes can be cleaned up. We are sloppy.
-
I think our alteration to the gameplan Is laborious. Living off defensive turnover is hard, when you have become a poor defensive team
-
Grundy looks a much better option than Gawn. Interesting to see how Gawn comes back after the bye?
-
Lever needs to just float and do not much, so need another key defender to cover the actual defence. Harmes cost us a few goals today, id say he was worst on ground by a long way.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, cause I haven’t read every post.. but how bad was JVR taking a mark 45 out and Petracca pleading to him to pass it as we had players free forward and he wouldn’t turn around.. then proceeded to kick a point. Die by the sword.
-
I have never asked for a change since the Mark Neeld days, but I think Goody has shown a real lack to adapt in the previous 2 years. Not sure if he is stubborn or just lacking in tactical skill. I think we will continue the same path as we have since round 10 last year. This will be Goodys last year I feel and we will be outside our window next year.

I appreciate your uplifting post, but I think we are a b grade side with one of the worst coaching groups
-
Are we throwing out bans for saying the Goodwin era was great, but he is done?
-
If consistent yes.. but no, free to play Melbourne
-
McKay a new version of Levi Casboult. Can’t drop a mark, can’t kick a goal
-
I just think that he offers so little in terms of competing in the air when the ball is not kicked to his advantage. On the lead, he is a weapon. But sides block his run and drop back in front of him. The way the game is played this year, ground ball in our forward 50 is critical, that is why Petty and JVR are our best option. BB will play only when Grundy doesn’t.
-
To win this one, our defence will need to be impenetrable. May and Lever will need to play strong games. Max will need to dominate in the ruck and around the ground. Last time they beat us, it was in the air. Surprised not to see another tall defender, but maybe Max will drift back. Taking my young daughter who is pumped, weekend in the city, so looking forward to getting out of Ballarat cold to enjoy Melbourne cold. Go Dees!!

Yes. But only because Roo will take a hanger on him

Maybe read again what he said.. was talking more of how his pace is deceiving. No mention on the type of player.
