  1. We have not had any players put on bulk muscle for years. Petty and Jed Adam’s can’t play key position as they are not strong enough. We need some proper sports high performance trainers
  2. Tonight’s result might be the end of Simon. But the bigger issue is how the hell does Choco keep his job.. KPI is skills and conversation.. both are shizen
  3. We are mentally frail, lazy and not committed to the cause. We also have a coach who loves to reward the above, so not sure how we win this one. Currently overseas on a family holiday, so will only see the result later this afternoon. Hoping this might be Goodwins last game as coach.
  4. I love Jack and am hopeful he recaptures form. But he is so out of form and agree with most he cannot be afforded midfielder minutes. I’d go one step further to suggest on current form he needs time in the VFL. Laurie to replace him for now. Could be good for Jack to spend a couple of weeks at VFL to work on some things and will help the younger players with his leadership
  5. Very obvious live the last 2 weeks that we don’t have players working hard enough without the ball. Besides dropping 15 players this week (a couple did have a crack) I’m not sure how to fix this mentality without bringing in a new coach and assistants.
  6. No club updates yet? Assume the scans would be done by now.
  7. Yep. I’d start rolling all the AFL listed players through. Give them a block of 2-3 games, not as sub and see what we have in the cupboard. Verral, Brown, Sestan, Laurie (a decent crack), Adam’s, Fullarton.
  8. He would need to get his own game in order. Very poor by hand and foot lately a trend that has plagued him the last 12 months. It has been a theme when the pressure is on, the Freo Alice Springs game was another howler.
  9. One thing that struck me late last night. Who would be the next in line as captain and vice captain? Viney is average, Lever makes too many errors and is always injured. Trac is not a leader and too emotional. JVR wants to be a leader but is playing with oven mits on. We have no young onfield leaders coming through and our current ones are not leading and look finished.
  10. Fullerton has had a good start to the year. I’d give him a game along side Turner. JVR survives, but only to keep Tom Stewart busy. Out- Lindsay, Melksham, AJ, Howes, Viney, TMAC In- Fullerton, Kos, Lever, Laurie, Windsor, Turner. Would also consider Sestan. We need to put a premium on ball use and decision making. Need to make positional changes to suit player strengths. Oliver and Trac to alternate mid forward. They are a defensive liability together. Kos, Windsor, Bowey, Chandler and Rivers to play more midfield minutes. Moving forward, Howes to play VFL forward, Kynan Brown to be a small defender. Howes is a panic merchant and not a defenders but hole
  11. Who is likely to come in? Laurie, Turner and Fullarton?
  12. Watched the replay and I’m not sure it was a contact injury. Appeared the ACL buckle. Hope I’m wrong as I’m a huge fan already
  13. Game gone past Viney. 10 changes next week including the coach
  14. Is 100 points a chance?
  15. Dead man walking!
  16. Rivers is so bad!
  17. Oliver looks a mile off. Undisciplined and not chasing or working back defensively. So much for a statement game.
  18. Does it count going backwards?
  19. I heard that there was no tackling today at training. Goody instead instructed players we are playing touch rugby this weekend.
  20. Could be a simple win for Gold Coast providing they capitalise on our huge issues… Midfield- GC to hold width, don’t send too many to the ball, prey on Melbourne on the outside. Half back and half forward to move in waves from behind the ball. Chain out handballs and honour short kicks to space Forwards- Go in small and just ensure eyes are lowered and beat Melbourne on the deck. We are the worst team at defending ground balls. May back will only enhance this Defenders- Zone off and intercept. Defend high balls and use small defenders to exit without pressure.
  21. His stint on AFL360 has shown me, he can not drive a change in game style. Will put my hand up if I’m wrong, but he is not the guy for the rebuild
  22. Tackling on the weekend highlights their soccer skills.
  23. SPC replied to WERRIDEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
On the first point, watching Adelaide playing so many tall forwards last week- it was the talls that got up the ground and created space in behind for the smalls. We use our smalls as marking options, when they should be crumbing. The whole system is predictable to the opposition.
  24. “The standard you walk past is the standard you accept”.. Goodwin appears too close to the group, he has lost the whip hand in terms of driving standards. I would rather a poor year, building up for some more success with a new dynamic coach, than trying to buy time with Goodwin.
