Sam Weideman + contract
Love how the Weed goes about it. no fanfare, no talk, just head down work hard. his agility and aggression improved last year. still a lot to work on but the signs are good.

The Co-Captaincy?
I'm definately in the Viney solo captain group. Jones is a MFC legend but Viney is our true inspiration and leader. I'm confident he will play a full season

Jack Watts video
Not sure why people get so fired up about Watts. What you see is what you get. He is talented footballer and a party boy that commits about 70% to footy. I don’t get Anyone being surprised by this

Hunt Set to Reset
Hunt was so good in 2017, I thought we had a star on our hands. Let's hope he can get back to it. So quick, hard at it and a good kick once he slows down enough to pick a target. An in-form Hunt off half back or a wing makes us a better team

Crystal Ball 2019: Predictions for next season
Adelaide, Bombers and Port I reckon. North could easily make the 8 too. and I expect improvement out of Saints and Lions. I reckon the swans will make it, just.

Crystal Ball 2019: Predictions for next season
Dees to finish 10th. Tougher draw plus being hit hard with injuries. Weed still needs time to develop and the loss of hogan is felt sparrow top 3 in the rising star KK to finish top 10 in BnF geelong and hawks both miss finals dees win flag in 2020

Goodwin signs on until end of 2022
I reckon Viney will be appointed sole captain this year but if not certainly next year (my opinion only)

Goodwin signs on until end of 2022
it is interesting. I would not be giving him the extension based on 6 weeks but on the past two years where we have consistently improved. He and his team have improved individual players (Harmes, ANB, T Mac) to levels I did not think possible. And he is still learning and will only get better with confidence and experience. there are always hiccups and the type of linear improvement we have seen is very unusual. I predict we will not make finals in one of the next three years (I also predict we will make a GF in one the next three years) such is the unpredictability of this league. short season, injuries can derail a season very quickly. Lock him away, we have seen him for 4 years so we know what we are getting. The club should be good enough now not to sack a good coach on the back of one bad season

Goodwin signs on until end of 2022
Luckily the club doesn't read Demonland. the amount of crap Goody copped most of the year by some on this site was ridiculous. Lost again at selection! Goody has no plan B, etc He will be a great coach imo and it is terrific to have stability for the club. He has the combination of desire, high standards and man management, footy knowledge. He commands respect and his selections are consistent and in line with form/effort - not your draft pick or seniority. play well at casey for long enough and you will get your chance. Can't wait to see this bloke lift the Cup with Viney!!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
seems the MFC like to be a bit more left-field than other clubs. back ourselves in and don't worry about the hype. who had heard of Howe before we drafted him? seems like none of the media 'experts' had him in the top 30?

2019 Fixture
Gees its good not to be a basket case club any more. So many exciting games at great spots. the first 12 rounds are tough though, we better be switched on from round 1. only 2 games that we should definately win. 7 finalist plus Port, Essendon and Crows. plus WC away off a 6 day break. I'd say we should be 7-5 at least. and then win 5 out of the next 6 to be 12-6 with 4 massive games to decide our position how long til the season starts!!? im pumped!
-
2019 Fixture
Agree. however this type of draw should make it possible to stop selling our home games to NT in the next couple of years surely. attendances should be up 20% on last year you'd reckon.
-
2019 Fixture
but they'll be home games next year so what's the difference? the accountants should be able to handle the difference for one year going we will cash in next year edit. although if you mean not having a reserved seat etc then fair enough

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Wow it has disintegrated into a discussion about how and when a thread should be closed can we add that to the reasons a thread should be closed? close thread ?
-
2019 Fixture
Pumped we are playing Port at home. We couldn’t beat them this year so we owe them a proper stuffing we had our biggest crowds for years in 2018 so I wouldnt be too worried about money. We’ll get some big games throughout the year and push our membership towards 50K
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Wow, a hindsight hero. I didn’t know that Hogan wanted to leave at the time hence the post.

2019 Fixture
60K in round 1 at the G and 90K in the final should hopefully be enough to move Geelong games to the G but it wouldn't surprise me at all if none of the above changes in 2019
