I disagree. I think he was trying to do the right thing by helping EFC. I do not think he would be stupid enough to break the law, so he would have operated in a manner that was legal but let EFC know that they should clean up their act. e.g. Listen, there is a club that has been up to no good. If I were that club I would clean up my act. The s4it is about to hit the fan, so if it is you guys do the right thing. Hard to type s4it these days, -

AD said he could not have known because he had not been told by ACC. The ACC did not investigate because they knew that they had not told AD. AD most likely presumed it was Essendon and that is not a problem. All this rubbish coming from the EFC is subterfuge. For goodness sake, if AD warned EFC he was trying to do them a favour, and in return Hird & co. want to repay that favour with what could amount to a jail term for AD. This typifies the twisted, delusional belief held at EFC. They behave as if they are the victims in this matter. They are the perpetrators. -

Yes bummer was used as a noun, because it is a noun. Bummers is a plural noun. You're sensitivity to this is coming from you. The term bummer or bummers most common usage has no homosexual meaning. To imply that its use in this case has homosexual meaning is patently wrong. I ask you, if you were to describe the EFC would you say they were best described by, a- Often highly destructive in nature, bummers became notorious among Southerners for looting and vandalism, and they did much to shatter the illusion that the Confederate Army was successfully defending its territory on all fronts. - Wikipedia b- Old fashioned UK slang term for a homosexual man. -Urban Dictionary It is nonsensical to describe the EFC by the latter. I think bummers was used correctly. -

Not all the evidence was gathered using the questionable process. I think I heard McDevitt say that more evidence has been gathered since the cessation of the AFL joint investigation than during. And that he thought the later evidence should be enough. Edit: McDevitt not Devitt -

Thought I was back doing cuisenaire at primary school. But the point is valid, WADA wrote the rule book, the players agreed. WADA will win. -

That's the problem cyclops (is that ok?). There is far too much attention paid to the big picture and not enough to the smoke and mirrors. It's a sunny day in France, hardly a cloud in the sky, but young Lord Jimmy is 10,427 miles away, deep in thought. That evil Darth Demetriou has conspired against young, innocent, sweet, talented Lord Jimmy and Jimmy won't stand for it. "Time to launch the countermeasures"' barked Lord Jimmy. So all over the land smoke and mirrors were deployed, with zealots posted to operate them. "Oh the subterfuge", sniggered Lord Jimmy as he rubbed his hands together in glee, for he could afford the best mirrors and smoke in the land, and he was not afraid to use them. -

Consider a swap? Mansfield is beautiful this time of year. Plenty of snow on Buller. Sorry I can't lend you the Range Rover, it had to go for the BMW X5. Sad and true.

I want to see Hird standing on a dais one more time. "James Albert Hird we find you guilty, and sentence you to..........insert harsh penalty here................and ban you from attending AFL games, clubs or functions for the term of your unnatural life" -

PJ I finally decided to go to your reference, In all seriousness the homosexual angle had not occurred to me, nor do I think it relevant. Note your reference first meaning is:- Urban Dictionary 1. bummer 1. A word describing the misfortune of something or someone. 2. A situation in which no desireable result can occur 3. A negative form of agreement. 4. A response used when the respondee couldn't care less about the topic at hand. 1. Friend 1: My wife left me last night Friend 2: Bummer for you. 2. Man 1: We're surrounded by venomous snakes! Man 2: Wow, this is quite the bummer. 3. Girl: Do you find me attractive? Guy: Bummer 4. Friend 1: It appears that tomorrow is my last day to live. Friend 2: Bummer Urban dictionary's second meaning refers to "Old fashioned UK slang term for a homosexual man." This is not how i would use the term bummer. -

Oxford dictionary:- bummer ˈbʌmə/ nouninformal plural noun: bummers 1. a disappointing or unpleasant situation or experience. "the team's relegation is a real bummer" 2. NORTH AMERICAN a loafer or vagrant. "baby doesn't have to be a travel bummer" From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Bummers was a nickname applied to foragers of Maj. Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman's Union army during its March to the Sea and north through North Carolina and South Carolina during theAmerican Civil War. The designation "bummers" was used, both by soldiers and civilians, to describe Sherman's soldiers, official and unofficial, who requisitioned food from Southern homes along the route of the Army's march. Often highly destructive in nature, bummers became notorious among Southerners for looting and vandalism, and they did much to shatter the illusion that the Confederate Army was successfully defending its territory on all fronts. The bummers' activities in Georgia and the Carolinas helped ensure that the South would be unable to sustain its war effort; additionally, bummers' destruction of industrial property rendered the garrisoning of southern cities largely unnecessary by destroying most, if not all, of those facilities in their path that replenished the Confederate war effort (such as cotton gins, farms, foundries, lumber mills, etc.).[1][2] Sorry what was your point? Perhaps it is you that doesn't know what was meant! -

Bummers. After everything written in this thread about those cheating bastards at Essendon and their absolute failure in duty of care to their players and you pick up on Bummers. They deserve to be called far worse than Bummers from Bummerland. Essendon are drug cheats. Essendon are lying bastards. Essendon are incompetent. Essendon are the lowest scum in the AFL. and they are ruining our game. I hope they are wiped from the AFL and never heard of again. And you think calling them bummers isn't necessary. -

There is no need to prove that the players took a banned substance. Note: or attempted use. From ASADA http://www.asada.gov.au/rules_and_violations/8_rule_violations.html 2. Use or attempted use by an athlete of a prohibited substance or prohibited method. If they attempted to use a banned substance, they are guilty! If they ordered a banned substance, it doesn't matter if they actually took vitamin C Guilty! A show cause notice may help the players reduce their penalties, but the EFC is stuffed. -

The EFC is a work place. The players are employees and as such are entitled to protection under WorkSafe. The EFC have failed to protect their employees from who knows what. They must be found guilty. I would hate to think what would happen to me and my business if I sent my employees across the road for injections once a week (to help them work) and kept no records. I think I may very well be in jail today. From WorkSafe Vic site. http://www.worksafe.vic.gov.au/laws-and-regulations/employer-rights-and-responsibilities Employees must. keep information and records relevant to your workers' health and safety (such as records of biological monitoring, asbestos assessments, first aid records and relevant medical information) employ or engage people with the necessary qualifications or expertise to advise you on health and safety issues affecting your workers consult with employees on matters that may directly affect their health, safety or welfare. Where the employees are represented by a health and safety representative (HSR), the HSR must also be involved in the consultation nominate a senior management representative (or yourself) to deal with workers and their health and safety representatives in resolving health and safety issues at the workplace PenaltiesPenalties for breaches of the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004 were substantially increased. The maximum penalties are now $1,075,050* for a body corporate END of WorkCover paste. This is per breach! times 34 players then times how many injections? -
