  1. We've learnt. Take momentum back when we can.
  2. Makes no sense at all. You have 3 players to choose from. The opposition should get right of reply ie either to reject the change or change their own team if still time.
  3. In theory yes. But after the last 10 years i have more faith in the later!
  4. Is the Holden center the Lexus Centre? Any coast to get in for MFC members?
  5. Yeah I am serious. The coaches job is motivating the players but that is sobe during the week. What could he gave done on Saturday that really changed anything? It would have been deck chairs on the titanic. Yeah a couple of changes may have helped but if the players don't lead he can't fix that. He can't make them man up the loose man. He can't kick to advantage for them. He can't show it down and keep control instead of bombing long to a contest. And if 22 professional AFL players can't do those basics right it doesn't matter what a coach could change.
  6. Who cares what the coach does? Honestly the "outcoaching", if it happened, was at the selection table not on game day. The game day problem was all players. They didn't work hard. They didn't chase and man up. They didn't position and spoil well in defence. They didn't lead at the ball carrier and they didn't kick to advantage. We did these things in the last quarter last week but not this week. Is that coaching? Is there a message not to chase or lead sometimes? I doubt it. Until the players turn up and put in 100% it doesn't matter who is coaching or how they are doing it. It is systematic at our club and i have no idea how to break it other than time. I thought 2 years of Roos would break it but I was wrong. I just hope that behind the scenes we have made genuine progress to breaking it and yesterday was a relapse that will quickly be corrected. Otherwise there is little hope for the club.
  7. Did Trenners play reduced minutes after half time?
  8. The only thing i would try to fox is the player effort and desire. Weer have the talent and ability to compete. I have no idea why some weeks we stand like stunned mullets and don't tackle or chase or run hard to defend. Fix that and you'll fix us.
  9. Is Trenners also on reduced minutes?
  10. 6. Kennedy ... 1. Garlett No one else deserves a vote. And Garlett only gets one because he kicked a couple which is his role.
  11. Unfortunately I am. I should make my sarcasm a bit less dry next attempt...
  12. Yeah but who is he going to push out to get a game. He is no where near our best 22...
  13. Yeah but who is he going to push out to get a game. He is no where near our best 22...
  14. Really smart selection decisions. We were too task up forward last week and Frost out with Brayshaw in balances that. Brayshaw into the center rotation and Harmes and Kent pick up the forward rotation minutes. H adds extra run down back and can push mid as well. OMac was quiet anyway and isn't needed for back ups. Pedo can still swing back if we need another tall and the forward line week still function. I can't remember the last time we genuinely had players capable of being considered "best 22" kept out of the side due to form of the 22. Yeah our injury list is low but we have at least 7 players capable of stepping into the current 22 Dunn, Grimes, Dawes, Trengove, Petracca, Stretch, ANB, plus Frost and Omac.
  15. There was a big contingent of dees there Saturday arvo last week after the win.
  16. Anyone know if this works for business customers as well?
  17. Hey!
  18. I get furious about wrong decisions and inconsistency throughout the game but i do have some sympathy; at times i understand they ate human and may make mistakes. What i find hard to accept are the clear [censored] ups like: - standing <10m away stair in front and not calling the throw - getting the 10 m zone aid the bark wrong for pedo - taking twice as long to pay holding the ball as any other free kick, just for the theatre of the decision - the clear double standards like when Jones for taken out after he kicked it last week.
  19. Freon a coaching pov it is our forward entries that are rubbish. We aren't kicking to advantage and we aren't making space for each other.
  20. There is that counter attack again
  21. Two different game plans. They are playing a rebound from half back counter attack style game and we are trying to play a total dominance style. They caught us on the rebound early a couple of times but we changed up our defending with a loose man when they got a turnover and it stopped them.
  22. I should be studying. But nothing will stop me making it today. I'm with Nasher. Super nervous about losing a game i expect us to win. Can't wait for us to win a few and that feeling morph to expectation and enjoyment again!
  23. If he has plantar fascitis I suspect that he will be able to play whenever needed if Gawn goes down but they are resting him now to try and get over it before the season starts. Having had it a few years ago, it is the type of injury that causes pain in the morning, When you stop for a break and horribly after the game but once you are warmed up and going you can play through it. At AFL level that may be difficult for a sustained period of time but it is possible. It is a strange injury, excruciatingly painful and you can't weight bear at times but somehow you can play through it. However recovery is a long process involving staying off your feet or worse http://m.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/how-kennedy-broke-in-his-foot-20120401-1w6h8.html
  24. As if we needed another MFC connection to Dion.
