Sitting behind the goals i thought the same thing. It was awkward delivery in the wet, and the moment he turned to kick it, I thought that was going to happen. It was a "chest mark" but it was an awkward one and a poorly executed option.

Trengove got in the side on the back of good VFL performances, and he hasn't exactly been poor. High tackle numbers and good possession numbers (he was in our top 5 for both those stats today). How they treat him at selection will be very interesting. There is clearly an "in" group and an "out" group: those who are selected every week and those who are dropped quickly after poor game (Garlett seems to be an exception to this recently).

Dawes had a blinder last week and is one of our senior leaders. It is clear that if fit the match committee regards him as one of the first picked. Also, this year we have consistently rewarded players for adherence to team plans etc. We were good last week this no one was dropped.

And? The ball had been up their end a lot more. It's the midfield that's the issue.

I don't understand why people are surprised about selection. It has been clear all that we are picking sides based on following team rules/game plan and development of players who are in Goodwins plans for the future, not based on winning matches.

Its not raining up here yet. I expect wwe'll lose but i expect we'll put up a contest, a bit like the hawthorn game. Maybe I'm a fool but I'm not concerned about Buddy. He is a big flanker. Plays small for a tall bloke. Which suits our defensive style. I would be more worried about a Tippet. This game is won or lost in the mid field anyway. As it is most weeks for us.

Out of interest, is it pronounced Hull-ett or Hue-lett?

They seem to only pay free kicks that impact the play. So a little bit of holding behind the play is ignored, no impact high contact on a shoulder is ignored etc. Also no grandstanding with the big long holding the ball calls. Just pay it and move on.
