  1. Roos has respect and our list will respond to respect, it is why Jones has always been our best choice as captain. Players respect Jones, just as they respect Roos, we have a list that simply will not budge for anyone it doesn't respect.
  2. Symons might get a game in the main squad, I don't think the others will.
  3. Sorry to hear that. This 18 games is 18 days IMO will be a success, just like the big bash was a success. I think we'll end up seeing football regularly played on Monday and Thursday - possibly even one of Tues or Wed. I have been to the sportsbar at Crown to punt on the GG's - it is a great environment, If I lived in the city I'd head there to watch the footy, regardless of having it at home.
  4. Maybe Watts should've been a mid all along. I've been swayed by some astute demonlanders that this may be the case. If so, Watts is a must have, it is certainly worth the risk, he'll be around the ball and is a SC dual position player. At 411k, you could do far worse. Definitely a risk worth taking. Dees are going to be like 2013 Port, but probably even better, we will be SC gold. Dom Tyson is a must have, he'll end up around 450k,
  5. Yeah I've squeezed Watts in, he is too cheap not to - plus as you mentioned, the midfield role. On top of that he is dual option for supercoach, forward and back. I couldn't fit him in my star studded backline, so he is in my less than average forward line.
  6. I have Vince, Tyson, Hogan and JKH. It was a toss up between Vince and Trengove, but i'll see how they go in the NAB cup.
  7. I think we have 2 rucks for the future, Max Gawn and Max King. Jamar could possibly be useful this year and next if fit, this will allow King to develop. 2015 onwards, Gawn will be our no 1 ruckman. 2016 onwards, Gawn and King will be our ruckman. In 5 years time, King will overtake Gawn and go on to be the best ruckman we've had since Jeff White.
  8. Mine was Watts, he should rack them up as a midfielder. Can be picked either down back - or up forward - in the supercoach. Vince, Tyson, Hogan and JKH look the goods as well.
  9. Jack Watts will be the most improved.
  10. I'd be disappointed if any of our players blamed the previous coaches or board. Nathan Jones didn't seem to have any trouble performing, it comes from within, Jones knows this - as do all the elite. We've had a lot of pea hearts on our list over the years, thankfully most of them are now gone.
  11. COLA is just one of many unequal areas in the AFL, but under the current socialist regime - it will not be removed. Once Vlad goes, then hopefully the next bloke can work about fixing up this big mess.
  12. Guthrie looked good the other night.
  13. Yes, I agree, he is arguably our most important player.
  14. That is why I said he is arguably our most important player. He certainly isn't our best player, he is a shocking kick and he tries to do far too much.
  15. There will never be equality in the AFL because it is a business, it's run on profits and revenue. What is even more worrying, it that it has absolutely no ethics, from the top on down - this is why we see things like Essendon, etc. Then the AFL try cover it up, that is what they are about. Betting companies are some of the biggest sponsors in the game. Television stations dictate the draw - which in turn affects equality. The more the AFL is the business, the game is the product, that is all. All I can say is thank god for Eddie McGuire, otherwise the AFL would just keep pulling the wool over the eyes of the public. The competition needs to be fair, I believe it will come to a stage in the future - where Eddie will threaten to pull Collingwood from the competition. Collingwood will strike and I hope they do.
  16. Actually it is not fact at all.. In this order, our best and fairest in 2013 was... Jones, Garland, Terlich. Football is a results driven business.. If you are going to spew facts, in order to make yourself sound superior - at least spew our correct facts.
  17. Morton is a VERY poor mans Watts - and I am not overrating Watts. Jack hasn't made it yet, but he has some very finely tuned tools. Morton looked raw till the day he was gone. I cannot think of an area in which Morton was superior to Watts. Watts should make it, I really think he'll be a star.. As Watts gets older, he'll dominate AFL - like he dominated TAC. I couldn't throw Toumpas in the conversation, he is a completely different player to both Watts and Morton. Toumpas will need time, to my eye, he still needs to work on his core - and also needs A LOT of weight work, pushed off the ball far too easily.
  18. He is our 3rd best back man - behind Garland and Terlich. I'd rate Frawley between 6-10 as far as our best, but 2-5 for our most important players. If we encounter monster forwards, Frawley then becomes our most important player. But, given we now have bolstered our midfield, hopefully we can take some pressure off Frawley down back.
  19. I think if Pedo turns out the be a player, it would be a bonus. Most have wrote him off - myself included - but he is gaining some traction now, had a good game on the weekend. Was a very gutsy act running back with the flight. If Pedo continues those acts, he'll turn many into fans.
  20. Very impressive debut by the kid. Looked to have good skills for a big man, nice balance and a good leap. Obviously has a big future, but we'll also need to be patienct - he does look very light on. Come 2016, our two Max's will be a very good ruck duo.
  21. I don't think there will be a Vince Vs Crouch argument. We managed to pick up an inside midfielder in Dom Tyson, as well as acquire pick 9 - all this for pick 2. So, we nailed two inside mids with that pick. What else did we need? We desperately needed a classy, mature midfielder with finishing skills = Bernard Vince. I thought Vince had a good year last year, IMO he has underachieved all his career, Vince has always had the tools to become elite. I don't think we could afford to offload Sylvia and replace him with a first year player - the majority of second round picks wouldn't be give us much output.
  22. We need Jamar back in, or at least Gawn. Spencer isn't up to AFL standard, which is a real shame, he tries hard. Dawes, Hogan and Fitz in, if any of them are able to play.
  23. GWS would be kicking themselves as well, Wines is one out of the box. Some clubs make errors and other clubs get lucky, wasn't our year last year, I think we got lucky this year with Salem and JKH though.
