  1. Nothing has changed since I seen Ollie play under 18's, still dominates and is still exactly what we need. I like to see Wines and Sloane dominate because they wanted to play for our club, they had faith in us - I wish we just returned the admiration.
  2. I understand the frustration amongst some posters and I don't think it's about Mitch Clark. It has more got to do with - we don't have a forward line, Clark looks done regardless of passion, Dawes keeps getting injured, Hogan brings excitement - but we've lost him for a bit. Frawley is undecided, we are aware we need results for him to stay. We finally have a midfield - yet now we have no forward line. All in all, we have Clark and Dawes locked in, yet we can't get them on the park. We don't have Frawley or Hogan locked in and we are desperate to secure both. Vince, Tyson, Michie and Cross bring excitement, yet we still need to kick goals. Our best backman in Garland is still out. Jamar is a distant memory. We haven't seen Viney for a while. I think all the frustrations of the above could wrongfully be directed at individual players at times, and I think that is fairly normal. Not right, but normal.
  3. Port are great to watch, they've drafted exceptionally well. Hartlett, Boak, Wines and Wingard are all high quality players. Polec and Ebert have been good cheap pick ups for them. Pittard looks likely down back.
  4. Easily B.O.G. Kid is an absolute beast, he'll push AA this year. I'd like to get this thread removed and just pretend Ollie WInes doesn't exist.
  5. No, that is not fair. We should have to pay Clark out.
  6. Brisbane players didn't happily sit back, Rockliff has been quite vocal about both Polec and Clark - as well as probably a raft of others. I don't think Brisbane have just sat on their hands. I do agree with you that if Clark needs to be in Perth, that we should pay his contract out and support him, if that is what he needs.
  7. He'll play less than 20 games in 4 years. He told Brisbane he wanted to go home for personal reasons. Maybe we should've listened to what Clark said back then, I know a few Brisbane players were vocal about it - that he told them he wanted to go home, yet came to us after a bucket of cash... Money does not solve person problems, Clark obviously has personal issues. If everyone here wishes Mitch best health then they'll have no problems MFC paying Mitch full contract so he can get back to WA - where he can work on his issues with his family.
  8. I suspect that is why we are giving him leave, so come pre-season when he still won't play - and I mean 2015 - that we can scrap his contract. Watch this space, I think this will end up in court.
  9. It is good for us that both Nic Nat and Fyfe are out of contract at years end. Both WA clubs will have to offer these blokes big money. The less money these WA clubs have to throw at Hogan, the better.
  10. Jackson and Roos are about the only thing Demonland's all appear to agree on - that these two are doing great work. We are lucky we have PJ, he is the great white hope, without PJ, we'd be screwed.
  11. Never too early to be p!ssed when you support MFC.
  12. MFC are the cutting the edge, China is the future. MFC have had good ties with China, hopefully we see a future playing games there. No doubt PJ is all over new ways to boast our membership. Things like this could see us become that next big club.. The oldest club in the game could soon become the newest upstart. Go Dees.
  13. I agree, I wouldn't be held over a barrel by many players on the MFC list. But at the same time, I see no reason why our players should show loyalty and sign - when the coach himself is holding off. I do not like the current set up and I really like what James Frawley is doing. James Frawley is basically saying.. Hang on a minute here, Roosey, you taking the p*ss or not. If you are serious about this Paul, then so am I.. But.. If you are not serious about this cause, then catch you all later. Frawley is a blessing, he is showing leadership...
  14. I disagree.. We picked project players when we desperately needed solid kids. Picks like Gysberts, Cook, Morton and Toumpas. These are the last type of players we needed, we simply can't even get ball - so why the hell did we want skinny project types. Luke Parker, Tom Rockcliff, Rory Sloane were all players I was shocked that we overlooked - we needed these players, they gave their all even in under 18's. I agree with you that we lack leadership and have for years, I threw the remote at the TV when we overlooked the Vic Metro captian in Shuey at 17 - once again in favor is a project type player in Blease.. We've missed players with late picks that suited our needs - and apparently we burned Sloane, lucky for him I guess. Then, after all this, we still do not learn... We go on to take Gysberts at 11 - who wasn't rated a top 20 pick by over 15 sides - and was a project player, speculative pick at best. On performance, certainly not anywhere near 11... As baffling as the Strauss pick. I won't get started on taking Lucas Cook.. This is why we are in the current state that we are in... Because we have drafted terribly, If I tried to draft worse - I couldn't of. I cannot stand how development is even spoken of.. Club simply cannot develop spuds.... Spuds will always be spuds - because they were spuds to begin with. GOOD PICKS will help turn this ship around... NO DOUBT.
  15. Top bloke, deserved better than how the AFL treated him. R.I.P Bails.
  16. Not even remotely close to Wines at this point - at least on performance. While Viney might have better pace and skills, Wines has a bigger body, isn't as injury prone and is better suited to an inside game than Viney. Ollie sticks tackles better and has a greater influence in a contest than Viney.. AFL is a different beast to juniors and Wines has adapted to it like a duck to water.
  17. What is development? Development is something that people blame our poor recruiting on. While development does play an integral part and it can improve a player ten fold. Some players simply aren't cut out for AFL football, sadly for the MFC - we've stocked up on these type of players over the years. Some will have you know that Gysberts, Cook, Morton all could've been guns if developed right. But the reality of it is, these players simply did not have what it taken to make it in an AFL environment.
  18. A lot of it comes down to the psychology of the individual. It has been a massive flaw in our recruitment strategy over the years. Toumpas is never going to be Wines, not before we drafted him - not ever. The fact that our recruiters could not see the different between the two astounds me. If we thrown out our recruiting agent 5 years back and got a run of the mill psychologist to assess our top 20 picks. We would not be in the sorry state that we are in now. Morton, Gysberts, Cook, Toumpas.. They are not only physically weak, but they are mentally weak, hence why they won't make it. Physically and mentally, Ollie Wines was a stand out pick. Why do we continue to overlook the obvious?
  19. We aren't the only ones. Ollie Wines stood out in the nationals, as Sheedy said, hindsight is a beautiful thing - GWS are obviously kicking themselves as well. Wines was a clear number 1 pick for mine.. But everyone wants X factor.
  20. Wouldn't think many recruiters would be salivating over NT football. Looks quite weak to IMO.
  21. Evans will make it, Blease could, bit inconsistent though. Strauss no chance. Bail and Jetta slight chance. Not sure about Nicho, he is a shocking kick. Bit of an insult to Evans to lump him in with those spuds.
  22. We picked up two injury prone big blokes, it is no surprise they are in the stands.
