  1. Unchanged after a 6 day break as well. Didn't Roos specifically lament that mistake after the short break St Kilda debacle as well? We've got so many inconsistent kids who will be tired in the legs for a game that'll be a gruelling slog. Would've thought 2 changes should be the minimum with a 6 day break given our age profile.
  2. Why the heck are we going in so tall with so many of their talls out? Selection is just baffling this year. We obviously learned nothing from Buckley's [censored] up last week.
  3. It's bizarre how so many senior figures of the club have openly admitted we want him. We've never done that before under this regime, have we?
  4. Was catching up with his manager in Melbourne yesterday. Feeling in the industry is apparently that both Prestia and O'Meara are leaving GC this year. Melbourne made a huge play last year and are still interested, according to Purple. Watts, on The Footy Show, joked he wasn't the list manager but said they are doing a great job with recruitment and would be "stupid not to look at a guy like Prestia, he's a great midfielder of the comp. So yeah, fingers crossed."
  5. The best thing about the situation is Essendon can't play hard ball. They'll keep their poker face on with the expectation we'll blink, but we won't pay overs, we'll offer what we consider fair, and if they act like the petulant children they are we'll tell him to walk for nothing as a DFA. It's so bloody beautiful seeing the carcass of that drug-riddled hole continue to wither in misery.
  6. http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-confidential-demon-follows-carlton-on-instagram-the-nonbreaking-news-jesse-the-giant/news-story/3a99e5ecbd52c0ed6b67543d1fdbd282 Noteworthy? Probably not, because he also follows Adelaide, Port & North and I only bothered scrolling through who he follows for 30 seconds.
  7. Yeah, such a spud. Completely negating the Pies' second most dangerous midfielder, but let's focus on his disposal. Fair dinkum, you haven't got a clue.
  8. If we've cooled on him, you'd have to assume that we're setting our focus on a more promising lead, and we've made the decision to sacrifice (potentially) our 2017 first rounder for another player instead of Prestia (due to injury concerns). I'd love the guy at the Dees too but Gold Coast will want an unreasonable pick for him. With the question mark over his injuries the footy dept would rightfully not want to sacrifice a good pick that might be a bust (that goes for O'Meara too).
  9. Go away.
  10. He's important to us. Small sample size but we've lost every game he didn't play except vs Richmond.
  11. Max Gawn is an absolute pisser. Interview on FOX is gold.
  12. We are so [censored] wasteful in front of goal. How Watts missed that earlier is beyond me. Frustratingly we're dominating everywhere but not converting, which is ultimately where games are lost.
  13. Of all the years I'm glad we've got a fruitful trading relationship with GWS, it's this one. They have more first round draft selections than they know what to do with, and they don't even need them due to the bidding system! Must use it to our advantage.
  14. You do hear stories about his behavior off-camera and it ain't pretty. A bit like that egomaniac Daryl Somers.
  15. God I hate all the fawning over this mob, after all the [censored] concessions they've received. It's farcical the way they've been handed that list at the expense of struggling clubs. And look at all the first round draft picks they have this year thanks to last year's trade period!
  16. Somehow I don't picture it being a younger list who would hold these sorts of attitudes, or tolerate those comments. Certainly not a club with Paul Roos in charge. Collingwood? Hawthorn? Don't forget Lumumba left Collingwood because of their shithouse internal culture and Bucks not giving a [censored] about changing it.
  17. Good! Just focus on calling the obvious ones and let the game play out. Too many stupid inconsistent free kicks every other match. Either pay them all or don't.
  18. Not sure I agree. The top 8 is predictably going to be the same as last year, with the exception of GWS replacing Richmond. Today's game is down to St Kilda having the more talented list and fluctuating form due to youth. They're back to playing like they were against the Hawks in Tasmania, but they can't do it consistently yet. As for Carlton, the overrating of their wins irritates me but it's typical of the media to jump on the bandwagon. Brisbane, Essendon, Fremantle, Port and Collingwood (the latter two during their poor patch) make up 5 of their wins, plus the upset against a very flat Geelong (who we also defeated last year). They also have the softest imaginable run home with repeat matches against Brisbane, Essendon, St Kilda and Collingwood. The only top 8 team they have to play twice is Sydney, so amazingly they could finish on 10+ wins. Just imagine the media fawning then!
  19. He's handling this as poorly as Frawley did in his final year. Fortunately there's no, "If Roosy signs on for another year, I'll sign on!" quote yet, but it's heading that way. I agree with the poster that said the club have probably offered him a contract reflective of his mediocre output so far this year, so he wants to get his numbers up to justify asking for more money.
  20. Has anyone noticed his constant nodding when people make eye contact with him? It's really, really annoying. Doubly so because you get the impression he's not even listening to their answers; there's never any follow-up questions either.
  21. Finally about to see North fall off the cliff now they have to start facing actual competition every week.
  22. Hard to believe how good the Dogs are with so many injuries to their backline. They have nailed every pick in the last 4 years. Gotta wonder where we'd be today if we'd taken Bont with pick 2 instead of trading for Tyson and Salem. Was he our mystery target?
  23. Hurley "re-committing" to the Bombers just means he's seeing out his contract and will become a free agent at the end of next year. The way the media blow it up to make it seem more significant is pretty laughable, really.
  24. Is it too late to give back Carlton some Friday night games?
  25. Love how Bernie has a streak of nasty in him, perfect attitude for our kids to learn from.
