  1. I'd rather not be the only losers to the drug cheats this year. And if the Saints lose, they won't jump us on the ladder after their inevitable victory next week. Best of both worlds!
  2. There are fewer sights more heartwarming in football than seeing Goddard lose.
  3. So conflicted about this match. Don't like either team, don't want to be the only team that loses to Essendon this year, but don't want to face St Kilda the week after they lose to Essendon. Similarly, don't want St Kilda to win because they'll be a game clear of us if they win next week (and we all know our form after NT games, at Etihad and against St Kilda -- the triple threat).
  4. I really hope he can hold his spot. Love seeing him racking up wins that he never got to experience as captain.
  5. Bloody impressive tonight. Loving the idea of a backline including Hibberd, Hurley, T-Mac, Salem, Melksham and Hunt.
  6. Is it really that hard to schedule one of these games before the bye? Tonight's game is only 1 week after the bye rounds have finished, it couldn't possibly be that hard to schedule it 2 weeks earlier in the season. Or at the very least, maybe the AFL could take advantage of the Thursday night games and give us one the week before, to allow for an ample break. At least we have 8 days until our next match, I guess. Just unfortunate we have to play the bloody Saints for the second time this year at the same bloody venue!
  7. I would hope we lace the team with at least 3 or 4 changes for next week to offset the fatigue factor. Oliver in is a must. Very frustrating that Casey had a bye this weekend; another week of match fitness in the VFL for Brayshaw and he might've been good to go for next week, too.
  8. On ya Jack, great return!
  9. For the love of [censored] Christ, can we please, please... PLEASE play at least one of our NT games before a bye, as part of this agreement? At least then we have time for our players to bloody recover! Next week is as good as lost before we're even on the ground. And for crying out loud, can we at least play our necessary "home" game at Etihad against a team we were already going to lose to, like Sydney or Hawthorn?
  10. Next week, like all of our games after an NT game, will be a dead rubber. Just play him for his 100th, nothing to lose.
  11. Always great to see Geelong lose, especially on their home deck. All the funnier if Clark gets rubbed out by the MRP in his "inspiring" return game.
  12. Mitch Clark being a total [censored], what a surprise. ...to absolutely nobody who knows what he's like off-field.
  13. Christ, I'm so [censored] sick of [censored] Hawthorn!
  14. I know for a fact that Mitchell is one of the most hated players in the league, both in the media and by other players. No surprise why.
  15. Well, we're talking about the club kicking up a stink about our approaches to their players... only 9 months after their club's CEO, captain, and best player boarded a private jet and met with an interstate club's development coach with the sole intent to poach him. They are scumbags and hypocrites.
  16. Richmond have clearly offered him overs. As has been well reported by multiple industry sources, Richmond were "embarrassed" by missing Treloar last year, to the point they are still seething 9 months later. They were made to look like fools and are desperate to change that image, even if it comes across as desperation. Baffingling, they still refuse to admit they need a rebuild and their list is shot (just like Carlton a few years back), so will continue to top-up with more hasbeens from other clubs. So yes, they will pay ridiculous overs to ensure they get their guy, and sell the farm in the process, then continue to wallow in the bottom half of the ladder. Yeah, even with such A-Grade Elite Stars!™ as Trent Cotchin. I mean, we're reminded approximately 273 times every game by commentators how Cotchin gives the most brilliant 1-2 handpasses of any player in the game, so Prestia must be the missing link to Richmond's premiership glory! Ultimately for Prestia he needs to choose between success and money. He doesn't strike me as the type who just wants the money, but if he wants success Richmond is not the place to get it. I'd like to think Melbourne is his preferred destination and he's just using Richmond to up his asking price, but it's pretty clear our current footy department doesn't play into those games. If he comes to us, we won't be budging much on the terms.
  17. It doesn't strike me as Paul Roos or Peter Jackson-like to go down any DFA route to get players, but the Bombers can hardly complain. They are apparently pursuing a Brisbane player via the PSD so they don't give up any picks. I thought clubs had an unwritten rule about that kind of stuff... but then, most clubs aren't convicted drug cheats, either.
  18. I'm glad we're clearly targetting defenders because there's no doubt it's our weakest link right now. Prestia is kidding himself if he thinks we'll give him $700K. Knock off $200K and we'll talk, but we can't afford that kind of money right now. He's more than welcome to take overs from Richmond, set up his retirement, and wallow in mediocrity for the rest of his career.
  19. It's hilarious that this guy won the Rising Star over Bont. How embarrassing.
  20. Yep, this one has loss written all over it. We're predictably awful after 6 days, we've lost every occasion this year and against some very winnable opposition to boot.
  21. I've had enough of this guy. He is finished, offers almost nothing, can't mark a freaking ball, and is using up a spot in the team I'd rather was going to youth (especially now any small chance of finals is well and truly finished).
  22. I didn't say we'd directly trade T-Mac for Hurley; rather, securing Hurley would allow us to auction off T-Mac to a club like Sydney in exchange for very high currency (to get another Oliver/Weideman/Petracca/Brayshaw type in a first round we're currently absent from). We will find another way to get Hurley, whether via the breach of contract route or otherwise. Dodoro's his own worst enemy now because clubs won't waste their time with his nonsense, especially after the spectacular stuff-up by the Saints last year. They were stupid enough to blink over Dodoro's Hawthorn bluff and pay ridiculous overs for an overrated swingman with attitude problems, who now sits on the sidelines for a year. Not to mention his illicit drugs antics; the guy's not the brightest bulb in town. And all one year after they famously went to the draft to secure their young key forward for a generation; why on earth wouldn't you pair him with Francis in the next draft and set up your spine for 12-15 years?
  23. I get the feeling any chance to get Hurley would result in trading out T-Mac for an early first rounder, to get us back into the first round of a very promising draft.
  24. If we seriously go into yet another short break match with no changes, I seriously give up. How many times this year has the club wheeled out Roos to admit selection mistakes as the reason for lethargic performances? It would be really nice to win one match this year a) against a team Roos has never defeated at the MFC, b) against a team we didn't already defeat last year and c) after a <6 break. Breaking the godawful NT record would be nice, too.
  25. Better than Dawes, at least. It's like having a cement mixer on the field.
