Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
SaberFang replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Oh dear. They want to fight for their innocence, hmmm? Won't take a deal, they said. Yeah... might want to rethink that, idiots. Strip Watson of his brownlow, ban Hird from all professional sport and cancel his passport so he can't flee to France. Them just desserts are here, and ASADA's holding the ice cream scoop. -

Pfft, Wingard? Showy player but goes missing for half the year with some embarrassing performances. Didn't Jetta give him a bath when we played him? 2 possessions to 3qtr time or something? -

I'm sure ASIO have already tapped Roosy's phone. -

Can we please not spill the beans... the last thing we need is a leak that could doom the trade. -

In no universe do I give up Nathan Jones or Dom Tyson for pick 12. -
Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off
SaberFang replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well Dom pretty much said Frost is a lock and another mid was on his way. I'm inclined to believe GWS will give up almost anything to get Petracca. -
Stop being so logical. I want to pin my hopes on everyone leaving that club in an exodus.

Given there was an article that said we had to wait for a 3 day turnaround for Buckley to fly there and back, I'm inclined to agree with your sentiment. -
Well, he lives with the big Hoges so let's keep them both happy, shall we?

We'll likely go back to them and ask for a second round downgrade. So pick 23 for pick 30. -

Probably not a great comparison but I get the essence of the argument. Just because a player shows us loyalty doesn't mean we're obliged to keep them. Just as Roos would have pushed Frawley out the door if he'd tried to re-sign this year. You have to make pragmatic, emotionless list decisions if you want to get head. I think we're all sick of being the basket case of the AFL. It's time for Roos to be a hardass and move this club up the ladder. -
Methinks Tex might seek greener pastures if the Crows stink it up next year under their new hard-ass coach. Adelaide didn't show much loyalty to his best mate last year, so why should Tex show much loyalty to them?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW
SaberFang replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
IF St Kilda tell us privately they're taking McCartin... well.... not many could argue against getting both Petracca and Brayshaw. BUT... it's hard not to burned by the past. Watts, Scully, Trenners, the list goes on. All our early draft picks haven't come close to the likes of Hodge, Roughead... even late picks like Fyfe. I know we have the right development coaches in place, finally... but with 18 year olds you need time for them to develop. Salem will be twice the player he was this year in 2016. We won't see the full potential of Brayshaw/Petracca until 2018/2019, and Roos isn't patient enough for that. His ego won't allow him to leave this list for Goodwin in the bottom 4. I can see pick 3 being packaged with pick 12 for a gun midfielder, and pick 2 reserved for Brayshaw. By all accounts Roos is very keen on the kid, and has been mentoring him throughout the year. -

Ugh...... wake me up in a week. All this speculation about Beams, Danger, some random GWS midfielder, going to the draft with all our picks because Roos and Taylor want to do a full re-build properly with Petracca/Brayshow/Lever/Cockatoo.... it's doing my head in. -
So.... I hear that Dangerfield fellow is a free agent next year... at the same time as Tex Walker and Rory Sloane.... Methinks they cant pay all 3 a million each.

If Buckley flew to freaking Bali to meet Varcoe you can assume they're pretty serious about the trade. ;P -

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM FROST
SaberFang replied to Gipsy Danger's topic in Melbourne Demons
Here's an interview Dom's done with Sam. They have a pretty good reporitorieoere: Interesting that he's done some ruck work as well... can see why he's so attractive to Roos with Jamar nearing the end. -

If Saints take McCartin then I can see us giving GWS picks 2 or 3 packaged with 12 for a Shiel type. That way they get a gun midfielder in Petracca to help spread the age of their list, but only on the condition they don't take Brayshaw. -

SaberFang replied to Gipsy Danger's topic in Melbourne Demons
I definitely don't want to sour our relationship with GWS, because we've been exceptionally fair with each other over the years. If he slips to the PSD I'm guessing it would be by mutual agreement. GWS wouldn't want any late picks we could offer, and they know pick 23 is far too high for Frost. Sometimes clubs can bargain on other noteworthy currency, such as not taking certain players with a pick in the draft. For example, we could agree we won't take Petracca if we keep picks 2 & 3 if they give us Frost for nothing in the PSD. -
Bit of a shame, he met with Roos a few times so I'm guessing there was interest there. Guess the Bombers have run out of players to bring in except delisted ones from the wooden spooners.
-
With Hogan, Dawes, JKH, Garlett, Watts (shrug) and Kent in the forward line waiting for their delivery. Lamumba, Frost, Macdonald, Jetta, Dunn and Grimes defending at the other end. Exciting stuff... on paper, at least.

The Pies are desperately trying to keep him. But their actions are obviously quite harmful, and there's no way he'll sty.
