  1. We're doing a pretty spectacular job wasting the faux-PP they gave us this year, rather than trading it as was obviously intended.
  2. Absolutely mindboggling if we really did all this work behind the scenes to secure pick 3 for Frawley in the hope of pulling off some kind of super-trade, and everything fell apart because we decided dealing with Colonwood was a good idea (who are doing a spectacular job holding up the entire trade period until the last minute). Sooner or later other clubs are going to say, bugger them, and go off on their own and start shopping around players we may or may not have had a vested interest in.
  3. Well it's our damn fault if we were dumb enough to put all our energy into a ridiculous pipe dream like Dangerfield, while ignoring dozens of excellent and far easier targets scattered across the league.
  4. With a trade period that effectively thus far has resulted in: OUTS: Frawley, Clark, Trengove IN: Garlett We'll be seriously lucky to get 5 wins.
  5. No chance. GWS have picks 4 and 7, they'll offer that to the Saints. Suits both teams perfectly. Saints want quantity over quality, and they still secure a key tall with those picks. GWS want quality over quantity, because they have to cull their list. They'll take Petracca and run. Forget about Petracca, it ain't happening.
  6. Seriously disillusioned right now. Of the four teams above us: Brisbane - IN: Beams, Christensen GWS - IN: Griffen, Patfull Bulldogs - IN: Boyd Carlton - IN: Jaksch, Whiley With GWS likely to make a huge play with picks 4 and 7 for pick 1 to secure Petracca. Heck, even Essendon are recruiting players like Giles. Brain keeps saying "calm down, it's not over", heart keeps saying "WTF ARE WE [censored] DOING!? WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!" Wallace is spot on when he says we're likely to stay at the bottom when all the teams around us are recruiting guns, and we're doing seemingly nothing.
  7. Well Frosty, you better not allow that. He can still refuse that trade if his heart's set on the Dees, right?
  8. 18 year olds are expected to have hardened bodies now? We're not Essendope.
  9. For the position this club is in, not one draftee is a better prospect than an established 22-26 year old midfielder. We will only ever tread water at the bottom until we make drastic list changes that send us up the ladder with senior players. Getting a bunch of promising 18 year olds that may or may not become elite does not help our current situation. More senior players will leave the club next year if we finish at the bottom again. The developments in player movement this year send a shiver down my spine, because the best players will simply leave our club at the first opportunity if we're permanent cellar dwellers. I know getting 2 more Tyson/Salem-esque deals with both picks 2 and 3 was only a pipe dream this year, but the players we take with those picks would want to be rated leagues beyond picks 5+ for us to take that path.
  10. It's mindboggling that all these players have put forward their intent to leave (Greenwood, Hallahan, Giles, etc.) and we haven't made a vague attempt to get any of them. If there's nothing actually in the works, I'll be majorly peeved that we've made no in-roads this entire trade period. We made a net loss with Frawley and Clark going. Lamumba, Frost and Garlett coming in barely breaks us even. We have so much cap money, what the heck are we doing with it??
  11. In no reality does keeping players on your list who have [censored] on the club a good idea.
  12. Right now I'll be devastated if we don't trade Watts. I expected a massive list change after the pathetic efforts from some of the club's veterans over the last half of the season. Not one person who played in that GWS game has been delisted, traded or otherwise (apart from Frawley leaving). Sends a shiver up my spine.
  13. We really are cursed. We turf Clark and his issues out, now the darkness has attached itself to Trenners. Can we just catch a break! Please! I feel devastated for this kid.
  14. Might be time to get comfortable with the fact that there is no hidden target and Lamumba, Garlett and Frost might be it. We only had 3 trades last year too.
  15. I don't feel for the players at all. They've had opportunity after opportunity to break away from the club and approach this situation sensibly, but they've dug their heads in the sand along with the corrupt idiots running the EFC. Don't tell me those players didn't know something was a little bit 'off' about going to an external clinic to have private injections of an unlabelled substance in a secluded room in South Yarra. Don't tell me not one player found this a little suspect. And why, if the players were so ignorant about what was going on, did Zaharakis explicitly refuse to be involved in the program? They all obviously knew what was going on, but have now agreed to play the ignorance card in the hope it lessens their sanctions. Too bad ASADA have already said the onus is on the players for what gets injected into their bodies, and it's for this exact scenario. Otherwise everyone would just lie and pull out the "but they told me it wasn't bad!" card.
  16. SHEEDY! AHAHAHAHAHAHA...They obviously got a two word answer from everyone else.
  17. We traded pick 61 for Jeff Garlett at some point. Geez, never thought I'd long for the days of trades like pick 59 for Viv Michie. I guess we only technically had 3 trades last year. Cross and Riley were freebies.
  18. The article was never going to make it up on our website if he wasn't out the door. Sorry folks, it's a done deal. And if another article pops up about Watts tomorrow, rest assured he's gone too.
  19. Roos' ego backed himself to turn Watts into an A-Grade midfielder. He looked at our list of early draft picks and said, "hmmm, these boys just need guidance with a proper coach to realise their full potential." Then this year happened. Roos had a rude reality check of what he was actually dealing with. He doesn't work in the midfield because he jogs instead of runs. He doesn't work in the forward line because his leads are terrible and he only scores when he happens to be in the right place at the right time. He doesn't work in the back line because he's terrified of body contact (a basketballer at heart). Take out the fact he was pick one and judge him purely on his efforts, like he were any other footballer. If Roos can't awaken this supposed 'deep, untapped talent', nobody can.
  20. Personifies everything we're trying to move on from. Not hard enough at the ball, doesn't put his body on the line, jogs halfarsedly from contest to contest but provides no legitimate leads, and falls over at the faintest sign of a breeze. Love his community work though.
  21. Geez, 72 hours to go... are Colonwood still holding everything up because of the Beams trade?!
