  1. Without ever having seen him play, Balic has a bit of a Ben Newton/Viv Mitchie type feel about him.
  2. I spoke to Jack this morning. He's still in his moon boot. The club has not put him on a program. They've told him to put his feet up until there is no pain in his foot and then talk to them about the next step once this occurs. He said the foot is improving slowly, but he is frustrated and can't wait to head out for a run again.
  3. He would be a great get, J. But being a Falcon's boy, surely Geelong would have the inside running at getting him on reduced dollars?
  4. The club placed Nibbler at Scotch too.
  5. Sorry mate. I just find it a really frustrating time of year. I'm praying your news is on the money.
  6. Lever is 100% coming home. Put your house on it. (I have no inside mail and no sources but if I don't divulge anything nobody will be any the wiser. Is that how you play?)
  7. Jon Ralph reporting that Lachie Whitfield about to sign a contract extension with GWS. No real surprise there.
  8. Matt Crouch's name was brought up as trade bait at the end of last year. There were question marks on his disposal so there wasn't a lot of strong interest. Gus is a good user. Kids coming into the game can tend to rush their kicks until they pick up the pace of the game. Gus will be fine.
  9. People keep saying we should avoid Gaff because he is a downhill skier. I say let's go downhill skiing!
  10. He was a fireman at the airport and I think he played footy at Tullamarine.
  11. He kicked 6 that day from memory. It stung like buggery.
  12. I had the number 7 on my jumper as a little fella. I love that he is still a passionate Demon and that his two sons also support Melbourne. (considering we gave him the ass and he finished up his footy at the Saints)
  13. Trac can have a rest in six weeks.
  14. I heard Goody talking on the weekend about players staying on for an extra year at a club at the tail end of their careers as long as they provided leadership to the playing group and were prepared to play at VFL level if their form warranted it. I think this will apply to Bernard in 2018.
  15. You could counter that by saying at AFL level there is less need to win your own footy as we have the inside players who could distribute the footy to a high half forward/wingman (if that is where Gus lines up) and the skill level to hit their targets. VFL footy on smaller grounds requires players to win their own ball, which is where the head knocks occur. If it's going to happen it will happen, regardless of the level.
  16. In: Hannan Out : Pedo Watts can support Max in the ruck. I think Jack played his better footy when he had greater involvement in the game.
  17. He is running around in the Casey Development team. Played on Saturday.
  18. How's Joel Smith settled in mate? Thanks for the updates.
  19. What have I missed here???
  20. Correct, you are! http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-01-09/no-rookie-upgraded-for-retired-lumumba
  21. I could be wrong but I believe we can upgrade 3 rookies. 1. The AFL allow each team to upgrade a rookie at the start of the season. 2. We are allowed to upgrade a player for Heritier. 3. We can replace Mitch King who is on the LTI list. Can anyone confirm?
  22. Yes, Mitch is back at Casey this year.
  23. Agree 100%. Far better than anything dished up in intra-clubs in previous years. Anyone expecting clean, crisp skills at this time of year when all your list is playing apart from the injured and you've got a handful of VFL players running around is kidding themselves. The boys were trying new things. They're rusty. The ball carrier was really pressured. I thought there were great signs last night.
