  1. The whole 426 issue centered around whether he was better than Luke Molan at the same age!
  2. The Swans have been aching for a player to fill the void that Aaron Rogers left some years ago. If we can get a 3rd rounder for Miller, I would take it in a heartbeat.
  3. Totally agree jaded. Does anyone think to consider where Cousins mind is at and whether he is motivated to play for Vic Club? Or he one of those plug n play toys?
  4. Miller time. Pity he performs like a Budweiser!
  5. Never has so much been written in favour of a player so mediocre. After 43 years in the wilderness it is incredible how supporters celebrate the ordinary. Scoop is right. We should be looking to trade while there is a smidgen of value in him. He has given and gives us nothing. Its a pity Miller has not lived up to the fantasies of performance eulogised by his supporters.
  6. Agree Rogue. Plenty of what. Both Jamar and PJ have shown they struggle at AFL level. Meesen is an unknown with a questionable development period. If we sign Jamar for two years then PJ better lift his game as he comes out of contract in 2008. While I am happy we cut Neaves, I would like us to rookie a young tall player with a future.

  8. Readily overlooked by most here Mick. Many would think its a couple of beroccas and she'll be right by lunchtime. Whether Cousins has anything to do with Mainwaring death is neither here nor there. But for Cousins to be in the situation he is in when he is apparently "rehabilating" is indeed worrying.
  9. Which people have stated that because he went to rehab he's the source of all evil? I havent seen any comment to that effect. On the basis of the one strike AFL policy how is anyone assured that he has done the necessary rehabilitation to overcome the chemical addictions he is addressing? Stories of redemption make great press - Hall, Pike, Embley and Johnson came back from attitude and/or alcohol issues. Cousins issues run deeper than that and the process of recovery is far more complex than the above. If there are a number of players that need to go to rehab in the AFL they should do it. Its blase to adopt the attitude that there are a number of players who have issues as diminishing Cousins problems. Once again has anyone considered Cousins motivations to play AFL away from Perth and at what price would you get him at? Its not a matter what DB does but where Cousins mind is at.
  10. Definitely sticks in the throat that one. DB needs to improve the side in that area. Yes, the honeymoon will be over.....
  11. If you value culture at the Club and MFC's is shaky at best, then Cousins is dead weight in that area. I am concerned that as a person Cousins just does not get it regarding drugs and by his associations still has got nowhere near it. Anyone think where his mind is at? Is properly rehabbed? Would he give a stuff about playing for a Vic club? If he is such a gun midfielder and WCE have already lost one (Judd), why would WCE be shopping him around. At 29 with his issues, no thanks.
  12. Completely agree and Harris's handling of this matter has matched the state of our facilities. Agree once more. On fire tonight Redleg!
  13. He has had fair opportunity to show his colours this year and IMO he just goes.He is not a long term option. He stays only because Jamar goes. If we get a Meeson or another ruckman, PJ would be third in line. I would hope we would rookie a good green young ruckman to develop and move PJ on in due course. Agree with that. I disagree with that. You can certainly review the value of a trade over a period of time if you make reasonable allowance for injury which is largely unpredictable except where there was a pre existing ailment. Contingent events like knee injuries etc should not be based for condemning a deal despite what some posters do on this site. However, other issues can be validly judged and assessed over time.
  14. Did Ben Holland, Brad Sewell and Byron Pickett all call MFC before the club called them? Well I never.....
  15. Not sure DD but he is still on a development curve and I hope in 2008 he can back up the odd spectacular piece of play with really consistent solid competitive football. He spend 99% of his time on the ground not going for MOTY and that where he needs to make his name in AFL. He is a young bloke still building his game. I hope he does not get carried away with focussing on the MOTY/ GOTY syndrome that has let down a more experienced player with a wonky knee in recent years.
  16. Its great you are supportive Dean of DB and I was happy with his appointment but I will judge him where it counts and its not in the media flyers. In regard to your points...... - he was, by all reports, very, very, impressive in his interviews. impressive enough to knock over the great Kevin Sheedy, and a number of other qualified candidates. Great and thats one of the reasons he was appointed Coach not actually done as Coach! How interested was Sheedy in the job? DB beat old cheese IMO but did it well. - he moved very quickly to sure up CC as footy ops manager. CC still has another year on his contract and was not going anywhere. It was a given that an incoming coach should ensure ensure a good relationship with his recruiting head four weeks out from trade week. - he quickly delisted deadwood from our list Its that time of year Dean. Hardly surprising omissions and there are more to go. The test is still on. - he put forward an impressive presentation to Judd, (again by all reports) If we land Judd, he can share some kudos then. I would like to see how he coaches Judd. - trade week hasnt started and we all ready are dealing with getting a new young ruckman to the club. That's CAC Dean and while DB may have had an input it is not rocket science that with White ageing that Jamar and PJ are not the answer at all. Just dont get off the bandwagon as quick as you have got on!
  17. My thoughts exactly. Given his knee injuries over the past two years I would have thought his entry was as farcical as horse with equine flu in the Melbourne Cup.
  18. While DB has come with good references, I am at a loss to see how any poster not closely connected with the Club can make any informed valid assessment of Bailey beyond media hype. Those jumping on the bandwagon now are likely to be part of the group that wants to hang him and the MFC committee for hiring him if we are 0 and 3 in 2008.
  19. At the time MFC needed to attract a ready made KPP with the retirement of the Ox, greenness of Miller. Out of interest if MFC had not gone for Holland, which other KPP player was available at 20 given Adcock, Peake, Buchanon, Rischitelli, Symes are not midfield players?
  20. When a team gets flogged by 20 goals its a bit rich to single out the losing sides forward line. It was not good but geez the Port lack of midfield or defence deserves a greater bake. If ever a team had the sting and the humilation to come back in 2008, its Port. A real test of the character that was exposed as imposters today.
  21. Agree Nasher. Geelong were truly awesome today. They were damaging with the ball and were electrifying when they pressured Port out of it. Textbook Grand Final football.
  22. Without doubt, premiership success is a catalyst for young supporters to follow your club. However, when WCE started it had a monopoly on the WA players and supporters in a football mad state until Freo came into the competition.
  23. The only thing that PJ, Jamar and Blake have in common is that none of them are up to AFL football. Geelong has made the right decision in dumping Blake for King. Blake is an ordinary ruckman carried in a very good side.
  24. I guarantee it wont.... Why would Wells leave a well performed blue collar team to join an underperforming blue collar team that has had no flag success in 43 years and has not produce a star since Flower retired 20 years ago? <_<
