  1. Training has not happened yet. But Bailey praises him for his leadership and how hard he works. Gotcha. FWIW, I dont recall anyone writing or saying Godfrey doesnot work hard on the track. Gulp. Maybe that's not the point.
  2. I dont condone what he has done. I feel sorry for the loss of a great athlete and the impact it has on all around him. I hope he works it out and cleans his life up. Its a sad lesson to all about the impact of drugs taken outside the provision of proper medical guidance and supervision. I have no sympathy for WCE and AFL who have condone Cousins and his behaviour up to now for their own ends.
  3. Christ, just what we need.......... an Yze Magic imposter!
  4. Bailey's answer is absolutely correct. If Miller is to survive at AFL level he needs to play at both ends of the ground. Frankly I think he struggles at both. Given the teams and AFLs lack of good KPPs, Bailey is giving the chance to perform. If he does not perform he is out. Its alot more realistic about Miller than all the milksops who have whinged that he just needs the confidence or the hardness to perform. So far he hasn't. He needs to perform now. Maurie Lithen made a good analogy about people finding flecks of gold in an old mine and continue talking up its prospects without it every look like delivering. I hope Bailey is right. From what I have seen of Miller, Bailey is hoping (praying) for some upside with Miller. I wish him luck.
  5. Thats irrelevant. You wont getting any more QLders going to the game because TJ is there. With respect to DemonDeb, there is hardly going to be a flood of MFC supports out of the wood work. Brennan wont be playing for MFC in 2008 and even if he did would have negligible impact on the crowd.
  6. I would suggest that the WCE and the AFL are deep in this. Its not been just a case of the WCE defying the AFL. The AFL will stage manage this with the result that Cousins is finally gone. Such is life!
  7. WCE and the AFL are very culpable in this whole tragic saga. WCE have played Cousins last year and this year knowing he was not right. There was no way he was rehabbed properly when he returned last year and WCE brought him back for their own ends. I believe they will have no option but to cut Cousins. Chick is neither here nor there regarding Cousins. Chick's delisting cannot be tagged to the recent charges. If it is then WCE are going to have more blood on their hands in that they know about Cousins. Given the seriousness of this situation WCE would not be so stupid and open themselves to further ridicule by blithely claiming it was the off season. They have a zero tolerance on this. As he has been charged then he has brought the game into disrepute. The AFL will not strip picks off WCE this year or next if they cut Cousins. The AFL does not want to stir this up any further and taking draft picks only keeps the stench in the air from the AFL view. I would also like to see the AFL/ WCE publicly accuse the Cotchin family of draft tampering and its impact on any family with a budding 16yo champion. Ludicrious suggestion at best.
  8. Pratt owns Visy. So Judd should be safe on that score and presumably have a contract to cover his position.
  9. Tenace might have pace but his disposal is questionable especially under pressure and he shows very little defensive pressure and pace when he does not have it. He should fit well into the MFC midfield mix with those shortcomings.
  10. Correct. Anyway Carlton have had a fine and long history of Club Presidents getting in strife with the law...... George Harris Ian Rice John Elliott and now Dick Pratt. Its clear Ian Collins and Graeme Smorgon were never going to succeed without a comparable record.
  11. Settle down. Y_M was championing that we pick Cousins up for 2008 a week or so ago.
  12. If they penalise WCE, I agree it will be pick 13. But if the AFL had the balls they would slug them pick 3. What rule would stop the AFL acting in that way?
  13. Jacks comment was tongue in cheek. You really are a sharp tool in the shed!
  14. Insulted??? More exposed for your unreasonable attack on Redleg. Redleg did not pass judgement and provided an opinion. He is free to express that comment within the COC rules. If anyone is beating this issue up its your precious self.
  15. He was exactly the same as TJ at the end of 2002. The comparison is indeed valid.
  16. Dont be such a pretentious [censored] GOF. Redleg's comments are decent reasonable reflection on a disappointing situation.
  17. I would have thought WCE would sack him if they had any morals left. **Meanwhile the AFL buries head deeper in the sand thinking this will all blow over......***
  18. He should enter rehab first.......
  19. *BUMP* There must be alot of supporters who have proposed MFC chase Cousins looking even more stupid than before. Well, some...... http://realfooty.com.au/news/news/cousins-...2300751402.html What a walking disaster Cousins is.
  20. Green, Bruce played near full years are not going to be the only key drivers to that rebound. If they are rolls royce, do you want to buy my car? TJ has got two years of AFL left before his gameboy batteries go. FWIW, the spoils are few and far between with TJ. Altough you seemed flush with them. Because it was not on the table from Brisbane. There were no other bidders. You can demand all you want but they were only going to give up the pick they got for Wood. If we did not deal on TJ this year, what would you have done next year, resign him at $400k a year or let him walk to the PSD?
  21. I did not hear that interview Unfortunately, events like the Freo game happened regularly for Ferg not always with the same scoreboard effect.
  22. In round 15 to 18 MFC played PA (away), Sydney (Away) Bris (Away) and Kangas who had a superior midfield to us and dominate the game. We then play Footscray, a marshmallow team whose wheels had fallen off and they were playing like a bottom four side. They applied no defensive pressure against MFC and were easy pickings. It was a total different and softer option than the top 4 challenging sides we had been dealing in the previous four weeks. The result reflected that. It was an easy get for TJ not a consequence of TJ being there. It is more telling what TJ did against Freo and Collingwood where there was some pressure on Melbourne midfield. What did TJ do when the heat was on???? Disappeared....Class Act that. I would be seriously worried if I had to rely on the Herald Sun for validation. FWIW, MFC4 Life and Maurie have it right.
  23. TJ a class act...hardly with 2 top 10 finishes in 10 years. That is definite mediocrity.
