  1. No. Jamar gives us nothing at AFL level and just does not get his hands on the ball during the game. As demonstrated on Sunday, his thinking is unsound in the rare instances he gets the bill. PJ gives us more than Jamar in the overall context. Nevertheless MFC need to look at rucking solution beyond White. IMO opinion its not PJ and it certainly not Jamar. From what I have seen of Neaves I am not so sure he is the answer either. Despite these issues, there is no value holding onto deadwood that consistently fails to do the job. Jamar is deadwood. If we can trade him. Fine. Otherwise I would cut him.
  2. I am actually with Bobby on this one. I recall the Hawks- Geelong game finishing first. Hawks hit the front just before the siren. When it went at KP, the crowd at Western Oval went berserk players stopped and thought it was their game over. A special day. You were quite right though about Flower. Played with a broken finger and brought us back into the game. Russell Richards at his Brownlow missing peak!
  3. I would expect that with PSD pick no 3 there is a good chance we will pull at least one player from there. Not sure who at this point.
  4. MOTY: Newton. Bias and it was a bloody good mark. GOTY: Dale Thomas Collingwood at the G about 4 to 5 weeks ago. Dodged three players on the boundary and snapped truly.
  5. Azzika, From what I have read people are looking to trade Jamar or Travis Johnston or Chris Johnson.. Who has wanted to trade PJ? Everyone??????
  6. That trade is akin to selling a car without a RWC. Very risky for Brisbane. OP is an open ended curse that has no cure and player with it or a history are poor trade bait.
  7. Gouga, Given St Kilda have Gardiner to get back next year I am not sure they want White. I would have thought TJ would have been better suited to St Kilda. With the Clarkes and Fiora, I am not sure Bruce fits in there line. Will Port want a ruckman that kicks backwards? Dunno know. Is CJ being traded under the family repatriation scheme as I am not sure that he offers WCE anything. I would give Sampi a very wide berth. His mind and attitdue is apparently a long way from football. He will be cut by WCE so he is PSD material.
  8. Correct Jaded. Despite all the rumours of tanking and a few good picks in recent years, Carlton really is a crap team. Its an indictment on the senior players that Whitnall is captain and Gibbs was in the leadership group at such an early age. He may become a great player but he just travelled this year. Possibly will blossom in year 2. I dont like Carlton and the draft penalties of 4 to 5 years ago are really starting to cut into their list badly. There are gaping hole of quality in that side in the 4 to 6 year experience category. FWIW, Walker has not IMO delivered on his No 1 ranking 4 years ago. Less so than McLean. No it isnt proof at all. Bode is still a fringe player who would not be in our 22 if we had a full or near full list to choose from. Frankly the Bulldogs are in a crap position and their last 5 to 6 weeks has been as poor as anything that MFC, Blues or Tigers have dished out. THey have not had any major injuries but their list is a problem. Too many light framed short players with no spine to speak of and their best players in West, Grant and Johnson are coming to the end of fantastic careers. Eade has some big big problems there.
  9. One of the hollowest victories I have expereienced. Ho Hum. Great post Nasher. At least we beat Carlton twice this year and outdid one performance metric from last year.
  10. Rest assured, I would never moderate the thoughts of the "mindless mob". B)
  11. *COUGH* We have a back up to White!
  12. Why do many people on this site mistakely treat the AFL trade week as some sort of misguided family repatriation scheme for footballers from interstate? I am at a loss what value Miller would have to Brisbane. He has more chance at Richmond or Bulldogs.
  13. Its a witch! Its a witch! If he floats like a duck we will burn him at the stake!
  14. Its the greatest MFC game I have attended. The energy and emotion that carried over and drove the side to thrash North and Sydney in consecutive weeks is something I have never experienced before or since.
  15. I dont think the Bulldogs will want to win against the Kangas today either !
  16. So would have appointing Sheedy. I dont think appointing Sheeds was a "safe" pick. I am definitely happy with the conduct and the integrity of the process to appoint Bailey and good luck with him. I am sure at the start of the process Sheedy's CV would have had him in front of the pack Well done Dean.
  17. Keep us posted Haydo. You're the man in the know.
  18. Agreed. When someone resigns to join a competitor it is normal practice that the person leaves the premises immediately. Surely MFC would have considered this likelihood and would have been prepared to announce to the market
  19. Hardly a gauge to say one is better than the other. BTW would you have cleared the reigning AA ruckman at the end of 2004 and kept Jolly? What would you have taken for him? And would Sydney have been able to afford White if Jolly, a fringe ruckman went for pick 15?
  20. Glad we agree on the ordinary. BTW, he probably cost them the 2006 flag. Its why they got that tattooed bogan Everitt.
  21. Yours most of all so it seems! B) Oh dear. Thanks for that.
  22. Jolly was in the right team at the right time. FCS, Shannon Motlop and Steve Armstrong have medals around their necks and are still ordinary players
  23. Who's to say that picks after 20 will be any better? FWIW, the uber draft of last year extended to the first 12 to 15 and not right the way through? Honestly a draft pick in the 30's 40's or beyond has the same potential upsides/ risks regardless of the year.
  24. Weren't you harsh on longer term club servant who at least committed to basic fitness principles even though their ability was limiited? No he cheated MFC badly and let everyone down. Its all his own fault. SLAM! B)
