  1. One of the great mirages on Demonland...Daniel Bell as trade bait for another Club. If Xavier Clarke pulls pick 60, Bell could get the ton.
  2. So what else would they have done with the draft picks? Let them pass and keep their existing worst four or so on their list who were definitely not AFL standard. Good insight.
  3. There is a further rumour that Fev failed all his tests...from birth
  4. At effectively pick 80 does it matter? They get rid of 4 blokes who they know are hacks and then "punt" on a player who MIGHT give them something and who has not cost them much at all.
  5. Agree. And how do you counterattack as the loose man when you lack leg speed and your disposal skills are flaky? Lacks a few strings in the bow for mine. Expect and hope more broadly skilled younger players fulfill what we need for the future in defence.
  6. Now if only he got the coaching job at Casey, there was a progression point for him. Pity.
  7. Your topic has been discussed in the other Luke Ball thread and does not need another thread started. Please use the other thread. Locked
  8. Mark Blake will wish it was him going to Sydney. He is negotiating a 2 year contract and his understudy is accepting a 4 year deal. Flag window aside.
  9. Whether Lyon rates him or not is neither here nor there given they have decided to trade him. They want to get the maximum they can for him and are holding out. They said they dont want a pick unless they are in a 3 way which involves a player they want. What can Collingwood give as a player? Aaron Buchanan wnet for pick 28 this year. The Pies have pick 30. That wont buy the Saints much in the market.
  10. No it has not been proven that he is good enought to play for the Saints. He is a speculative pick Is he any worse than the bottom four on the Saints list? The Saints time is now. They will trade picks now for their window is now. We are not in that predicament and I dont see the need for MFC to punt a player who at best could 2 years of mediocre service.
  11. There situation was exactly the same this year. Jamar (fitness) and Miller (performance) raise big questions about both players Miller is warming a spot for another player. I cant see anyone on the list readily taking over from Jamar in 12 months.
  12. Careful Rusty. You wrongly accused me on the Sylvia front some months ago and now you doing it again on Miller. You have not changed your tune at all.
  13. Redleg will be furious at being overlooked.
  14. Thank you Ch 9 for maintaining the low standards. http://www.theage.com.au/news/entertainmen...4701089809.html
  15. The Age is saying Fraser is to be potentially traded by the Pies given they have Jolly to free up space to get Ball. I agree with your assessment of the proposed 3 way trade between the Saints, Dogs and Pies. Rather ironic as I thought the Saints had learnt from their last experience with an Everitt on the list! MFC could get both Ball and Everitt for pick 18. If they offer pick 18 for Everitt, then that would force the Saints and Pies to deal directly. Pies can offer pick 30 for Ball. Wont be enough. Saints dont want Fraser and he is worth more than Ball. We could force Ball to the PSD if we did the Everitt deal at the last moment and snooker the Pies and Saints.
  16. Firstly he is contracted. Secondly I wouldn't. Agree with all that. The upside is big.....so is the downside if Brown/Fev clash too often.
  17. Sorry. I just copied Demon Tragic. Oops. Are they out of contract??
  18. They dont want Peake and Lovett for depth. They want pace. They have offloaded downhill skiers in Milne and Clarke. Can they offload Ball? They would prefer to. Pies have only pick 30 left unless they can trade someone of decent merit. Davis would struggle to get beyond a mid 2nd round pick.
  19. Good deal for the Pies. In real terms they have traded about picks 20 and 60 to get one of the better durable ruckmen going around. The Age was saying Fev agreed to go to Brisbane anf that the Lions had to convince Bradshaw and Risky to head south.
  20. In some ways he is just the same boofhead been proven over and over again. Despite his rank stupidity he is a very very good footballer and a matchwinner when switched on. The trouble is that the gap between his best and worst is the Grand Canyon and too often he plays at the extremes. And its this reason that sportsman like Warne, Carey, Symonds, Fevola, G Ablett Senior and Cousins do get so much latititude is that they are so good. You are right many of these people never do grow up.
  21. So why are you doing it now? I did not do it in the post you quoted. I stated a fact that the poster did not address my point or question. For the record, Fork, I was here when the site started and I could say the same about you before you joined D'land but hey that would be getting personal wouldn't it? And of course..no hard feelings
  22. Agree. Carlton had to deal given the circumstances. Fevola's position at Carlton was untenable. They didn't and Fev had already tied a number of anchors to his ankles himself with a sign saying this way down. He only had himself to blame for each and every incident through his career.
