Oliver Trade Rumours
Here we go again. Just because deals were impossible to get done, doesn't mean that negotiations didn't take place. So the media picked a random Geelong player (Rhys Stanley) to create a fictional story that Oliver met with Geelong players on a farm. Did the media go to the titles office to see which Geelong players own a farm? Your comment is what turned this place into a [censored] show, not the media.

The Brandon Parfitt Thread
It's a no for me. Has Jack Billings written all over. Went from being a permanent fixture in Cats side to being on the outer for past 2 seasons. Cats preferred Jye Clark over him, even though Clark seemed to struggle. Parfitt's a premiership player at the Cats. Like Hunter, what's his motivation to toil away at Casey as a depth player? And I don't care how cheap they are. If we have a spare list spot, just get a kid into the system, who has his whole career ahead of him.

Farewell Adam Tomlinson
Contrary to Tomlinson, Fullarton and Jefferson have virtually no exposed form at AFL level. And neither Turner nor Hore can't pay the May role. At the very least. I'd keep him ahead of Hore, who missed a lot of games through injury.

If we got pick 26 for Spargo next year, then Tim Lamb is a genius. A DFA is more likely.
-
Farewell Adam Tomlinson
Tomlinson was probably the only legitimate depth player we had this year. Did an adequate job when selected, but was a whipping boy of the match committee. If we intend playing Petty/Turner up forward, then we have no key back depth. I've given up understanding our list management.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
That would make the trade deal with the Bombers look ridiculous for us. We could have kept all those picks for what is essentially our F1 & P28 for 13 and 24. We could have bundled all those later picks and got another 2nd rounder from a club needing points.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
The acquisition and playing of Hunter in 2023 was a fail by the club. He was playing in the VFL for the Dogs in 2022 for a reason. And in 2024 he was a list clogger for us. I see more of a future with Harry Sharp.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
Not a bad idea, but I think the Tiges will target pick 2 from North.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
If he fills Hunter's spot, that's a fail. Hunter was disinterested this year. I think he has more upside than ANB, who was inconsistent from year to year.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Just watched the highlights package of Hamish Davis in the WAFL final, where he had 21 Disposals and kicked 4 goals. He's certainly not a polished footballer. There's nothing classy about him, and his kicking style reminds me of Warren Dean. But he obviously knows how to find the footy. Hard to compare him to any current AFL player.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
After 3 years of recruiting ageing rejects from other clubs, we finally get a young player with upside. Sharp will hopefully be getting a game ahead of the likes of Billings and Spargo. Welcome Harry!!!!

Wade Derksen
Gut feel is that GWS will relent once Stringer deal goes through. Derksen's trade value should be no more than a late pick swap. A pick in the 60's should suffice. Not sure who his agent is, but if he's desperate to leave for family reasons, the agent would be putting pressure on GWS with threats of future dealings with the club.

NON-MFC: Trade Talk
Tiges wouldn't do that. They want as many 1st round picks as possible.
-
NON-MFC: Trade Talk
Disagree. There's no guarantee that pick 3 ends up being better than 12, and Baker and Owies are good acquisitions.
-
Dan Houston
That's worse than the Pies offer. Plus Houston doesn't want to come to us, so move on.
- New assistant coaches at the Demons?
-
Dan Houston
Yeah I just saw the deal in totality. GC haven't done too bad. Getting rid of Ratkins is a win. Lukosius could be another Jack Watts for Port, or he could fulfill his talent.
-
Dan Houston
Pretty sure they left out the 2nd most important piece in Lukosius going to Port. Atkins is a salary dump. Richards is more than steak knives, and offers Port midfield depth. I think Port have done well. But surely some later picks must be going to the Suns so they get points for Lombard. Edit: Tom Morris was way off the mark. The Suns get 2 future 1st as part of the deal. Makes more sense now.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Why is that? Sharp said he was committed to joining us, and the Lions didn't seem to have any objection.
-
Dan Houston
I'd suggest that they will let Kennedy and Owies go. Their combined salary wouldn't be much different to Houston + a late draftee. And Houston isn't leaving Port for more money.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Instead we top up our list with rejects from other clubs who end up being ordinary players for us. There's always talent after the 1st round. We've just chosen to ignore it.

Caleb Daniel
You had me nervous there for a second.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Can't get excited or disappointed with this trade. Was hoping we'd go deep into the draft this year. Pick 9 for our F1 and 28 seemed about right. Bundling up the later picks and sending them to Brisbane for pick 32/34 and Sharp, would have given us a nice draft hand.

Is this you @Ethan Tremblay?

Oliver Trade Rumours
Of course AFL coaches would be concerning themselves with what was written on a fan forum.
