  1. Humphrey's manager would know exactly what contract his suitors are offering. There is no way that Humphrey will nominate a club, and then find out he could have got millions more elsewhere. It just doesn't work that way. If we are playing the game as you say, we are [censored]. Did we play the same game with Flanders? PS: Your interview analogy in your subsequent post is not the same. A regular employee is not being headhunted by 3 suitors.
  2. If you get excited by Lamb's spin, good for you. It's clear to most that we want him out the door at any cost. If the club is paying any of Clarry's salary whilst he's at another club, then it's an indictment on Lamb's list management. It's the thing that cost Collingwood's Ned Guy his job.
  3. Lamb is decreasing his currency by the minute.
  4. Bingo. I was just about to say the same. Clarry's fitness may have been an issue at times over the past couple of years, but his defensive efforts when fit are no worse than most elite inside bulls.
  5. 100% agree that Trac won't move the needle when it comes to interest in the Suns. But the Suns see themselves as being well past the stage of gimmicks like Karmichael Hunt. They are trying to become a serious football team, with onfield success. Despite what others may think, Trac will make them better. And there aren't other clubs who would be interested in Trac, that have the capital to get us a better deal than the Suns. I'm sure that the Hawks and Pies would love Trac.
  6. This contradicts what Demons Forever had to say, which was if Humphrey nominates us, the deal is done.
  7. I agree that a handy player is more desirable than a 2nd rd pick, but the machinations of luring a decent GWS player needed to occur before King had the meeting with Clarry. I don't believe that the decision to shop Clarry was solely King's. He's basically just walked through the door. The $700k pa we're paying would be a List Manager's decision, and something that was probably ratified by Guera and Green. Again, it's not a decision that's made on the spot after King's meeting with Clarry. I don't have confidence in our List Manager to believe that we'll be adequately compensated for Clarry.
  8. Jesse Hogan and Toby Bedford.
  9. I'd say that Flanders had committed to joining the Saints for some time. He gave King the courtesy of a catchup, but his mind was made up.
  10. Can't see TDK and Marshall in the same team. A future pick could be on the cards.
  11. Two time winner of the Coaches Award. It's weird that a player with so many weaknesses was valued by so many coaches. Goodwin's "chaos ball" has a lot to do with the ridiculous Demonland narrative that Petracca and Oliver can't hit targets.
  12. You don't acquire players from other clubs by being conservative with contracts. Especially when the Saints immediate future seems more promising. King's role would be to sell the club. He wouldn't have any input on contracts.
  13. Hats off to you Demon Forever. I was skeptical. But the fact that he is also meeting with 3 other clubs in a concern.
  14. Journos are more in the know than Fan Forum sources. I'm not surprised. Flanders having a courtesy coffee with King and Jones this morning was probably to tell them of his decision.
  15. No offence, but you also said that Flanders is coming our way. The Saints telling Steele to look elsewhere suggests otherwise. At this time of year player managers aren't bluffing, and it makes no sense for GC to trade Humphrey even for Trac.
  16. You are dreaming. You honestly believe that there is an A grader out there who is seeking to join a club that is in rebuild mold? And our record of attracting talent to the club has been so good under Tim Lamb, lol.
  17. How about we just hold Trac and Clarry to their contracts. There is a reason why the Saints want to let Jack Steele go. But nothing surprises me when it comes to our recruitment of players from other clubs.
  18. So within the space of an hour, we've been told by a source that we are getting Humphrey and Flanders, to now being unlikely to get either. I think the maligned journalists have a better record than Demonland sources.
  19. Straight swap for Wade Derksen.
  20. Pretty sure Nick Stevens nominated Collingwood, and the deal didn't get done, so he nominated for the PSD and ended up at Carlton. PS: The bloke was the biggest piece of excrement in AFL history.
  21. Let's see if the club is legit or all talk and no action. Flanders and Humphrey are both still under contract. GC can stipulate that either player has to move to us as part of the Trac deal, and vice versa. Getting pick 6 or 7 would be a massive fail for a club that is saying Trac only gets traded for a massive offer.
  22. I feel for Steven King. Based on the interview, the club is in "win now" mode, but most rational football followers would see us in a rebuild. Both Richmond and Hawthorn had a clearout of players post dynasty, and the next coach was hired to start the rebuild, with no expectation of playing finals. Should we lose Trac, Clarry, May and McVee, with Viney and Lever on the decline, T Mac and Melksham on their last legs, King would need to be a miracle worker to make the finals in 2026. I still believe that if Trac and Clarry remain at the club, and we get Flanders, finals is still a possibility with a refreshed game plan. But with a mass exodus of players, I think King is on a hiding to nothing.

Not fussed if it's true. A lot happens in a year. Derksen is supposedly a swingman, yet couldn't get a game despite GWS having heaps of injuries to key backs and forwards.
  24. We had Houston all but signed last year. He wasn't cheap.
  25. Exactly. The fact that Dannyz is also aware of a scheduled meeting means that the leak has come from within the club, not from a player manager. Posters on here constantly blame the media for destabilising the club. Some are even blaming Trac's management ffs. The perception of the club being a basket case is vindicated with all the leaks. It's little wonder that we can't recruit anyone decent from another club.
