Winners!

+1. Bell was in our very best, and was great all night. Not one of your most accurate efforts Joeboy. Newton didn't apply pressure early on, but was much better in the 2nd half at chasing and pressure. Robbo did the most work of anyone all night; great pressure and leading, and was the biggest winner I thought. Looked SO much better after a rest. Neitz was (is?) a spud. Dutchy was great, as was Wheatley. I also appreciated Ferguson's efforts. Good team performance really, (apart from a few).

When will we produce our next Nathan Foley?
Geddy Lee replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's pretty hard to find/recruit a player who can get 10 first possessions and 12 clearances in a game. A Richmond player who earns his stats! Watching Foley this year, he's about my favourite non-Melbourne player, an unfathomable ascension to the top of the RFC and the whole league. -
No he won't, Foley is an absolute freak. Could be AA this year, leads the league in clearances.

Has David Neitz reached the end of the road?
Geddy Lee replied to demonique's topic in Melbourne Demons
There's a parallel universe somewhere where Guerra didn't bugger Bruce's shoulder, Bruce won the Brownlow that year and took over the captaincy the following year, and Neitz was free to retire at the end of this year, the burden of captaincy removed to one of his peers; as opposed to this universe, where Miller, Bruce, Green and (to a smaller extent) McLean have put their hands down for the captaincy. If you stand back, I'll try and engage this big machine that can rip through time-space, and we can all step through into that one. *presses ON button* -
Boy I hope our new coach (hopefully Sheedy) brings somebody with him who can fix Moloney, it's getting beyond a joke. I can't believe how much pressure we put on the opponent last year compared to this year - like night and day. I am seriously disillusioned with the coaching right now, including the selection committee and the lack of conviction in assigning player roles. This is worse than 2003. We are rudderless and our list has never looked so bad.

Melbourne FC - history's worst skills

Hi all Demonlanders, I was wondering if somebody had a picture of a profile of Anthony Ingerson, i.e. his individual club photo/mugshot type thing. It's for someone's birthday, and this someone calls Jared Rivers 'Anthony Ingerson,' and there's a good joke coming for him. Please help! Thanks, Geddy Lee. Neita takes a different view to the Prez
Geddy Lee replied to warren dean's topic in Melbourne Demons
One positive we can take from this affair is that the senior players who don't give their all every week (I don't need to name them) and have been around Neale for 10 years and are complacent to the environment can finally understand the responsibility they have to perform for their coach and club and the repercussions of not doing so. -
That's exactly what I thought. I couldn't be more gutted.

An open letter to Paul Gardner
Geddy Lee replied to Jonesy is the next captain's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why bring Paul Gardner into it? If the players had "bled" and "cried" for the club like Danners did, he would still be there. -
NEALE DANIHER - TO FINISH AT END OF THE YEAR
Geddy Lee replied to beelzebub's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well done Neale, classy and appropriate exit. I enjoyed the last 10 years completely obssessed with the football club you coached, and thanks for the 70% Collingwood beating ratio, the 2005 match against the Bulldogs and the 2000 Qualifying Final vs Carlton in particular. Good luck in your future endeavours. -
My biggest problem with getting Voss as senior coach is the fact that as he has no experience, he would get a fair bit of leeway from both our supporters, other team's supporters and the media. Thus if he is given 4-5 years forgiveness as he learns what to do (with corresponding forgiveable poor results), we will have no White, Neitz, Robbo, Bruce, Green (maybe) etc we will have to rebuild again, and that's another 6-8 down the drain. I fear that if Voss gives us mediocrity, we will accept it for far too long.

Word of mouth, Male, 21-30, I'm Joe Average.

I'm not quite sure how a supporter is supposed to present a suspicion about coaching favouratism with cold hard facts.

Mystery Demonlander to be interviewed on SEN at half time
Geddy Lee replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry to hear that Finks, your turn of events seem to have fit the night perfectly. -
For senior players who are 1000% behind Daniher staying, they are sure doing their best to make sure he goes with this display of nonchalant inspidity.

So who will be available for the Tigers game in 2 weeks?
Geddy Lee replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
As long as Miller stays out, I'll be happy with whoever Neale brings back in. -
I'm sure Fitzroy fans were just as passionate before their club was relocated. Truth is, if we all don't turn this passion into assistance for the club, then there will be dire consequences. What happens in the next ten years will determine whether our club flourishes or dies. So the question is, how can I assist the club more then I currently am? I turn up to every game, I bleed for the club like others here, my right shoulder is dedicated to the club in permanent ink, but clearly that is not enough. As I have no time to help volunteering for the club, the best I can do is keep working towards Richard Pratt's model of financial stability for a football club.

Melbourne bring disappointment down to an artform
Geddy Lee replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
My heart is broken, but we were already dead in the water. -
I was there and I thought that whilst Collingwood obviously got the umpire's love and O'Brien was illegally scragging Lucas all day, your senior players just failed to stand up, which filtered down. Keplar was Keplar, but the real disappointing prospect at Windy Hill was Laycock, who has failed to impose himself on a contest since Anzac Day '05. Paddy Ryder is amazing though, I'm very keen on him.

I'll take an accountable skilled ruckman thanks. I would like a clone of Dean Cox. My second preference is a Tom Hawkins-type meat and vegetables bustling KPP forward.

He is to comedy what Basel Fawlty is to hospitality.

I'm confused, are we not allowed to cite injuries as an excuse? Alot of people would agree that McLean, Neitz and Rivers are our three most important players. There's only so much ND can do with the cattle we've got and with the pathetic effort guys like Bruce and White put into knowing they will retain their spots.
