Scott Thompson was only 22 in 2004, which suggests he was developed and coached well by the MFC midfield staff. He was injured in Round 13, and the midfield held up - if only for a month. I think Ratten was a good coach. Carlton wouldn't have him otherwise.

I must be one of the few who thought Davey looked OK on Friday night. Tore through the midfield on a few occasions. I think sometimes supporters get frustrated when he can't mark overhead but usually it's the fault of his teammates who floats it over his head and allows someone 15cm+ taller to come in and spoil. Bail did this a couple of times. The best we've played was in 2010 when Davey was dissecting opposition structures with pinpoint passing off half back. I wish he'd stay there. Also, our kick in strategies on Friday night were Auskick 101. Just appalling that it is bombed to Jamar every time. How dumb are we?

Sylvia, Petterd, Bate, Fitzpatrick out. Those four in. Howe, Watts, Cook Green, Clark, Jurrah Surely this is the better option? We don't have a decent small on the list.

The fun has completely been sucked out of following the MFC. Every year we take a huge predictable backward step against Hawthorn. Monotonous, uninspiring, boring and completely irrelevant. That's our club post '06. It's exhausting to be passionate about this mob.

We're just [censored]. The only player last night who can shred the opposition running through the midfield is Davey, and for a glimmer Jeremy Howe. Which says a hell of a lot about our midfield squad that our most damaging guys through the middle are part-timers in there. McKenzie, Trengove, Magner, Jones, Moloney, Sylvia, and Jamar DOES NOT WORK. Slowest midfield in the history of the AFL, and not terribly bright either. No spread, no quick and dangerous movement. Completely stagnant midfield. Special mention to the truly horrendous kicking skills of our team, which doesn't help. I like our ferocity at the ball carrier, but we can't maintain it.

Geelong are the best team of all time, and we matched them for contested possession. This draw isn't as scary as it was three weeks ago. Carn Dees!!!

Those aren't facts PSD. We should have not pinched a flag between 00-06, we were never the best team or had the best list. Daniher got a lot out his teams, with limited resources. If you feel the need to pot White, go ahead, but you obviously didn't see the Dogs game if you're comparing his effort to Jordan McMahon's. He was a bloody good player, shorter than Jack Watts, and should not be compared to Travis Johnstone as lazy, an unfulfilled talent and an underserved selection.

Comparing Trapper to White shows you have NFI about football. The amount of revisionist [censored] hung on good players like White and a good coach in Danners around here is an absolute disgrace. We contested six finals series from 98 to 06 and Jeff White was superb in this period, particularly in 04, when he was the best ruckman in the land. You imply White had no heart, well he showed steely resolve against the Dogs in late 05 to get us into the finals and got his face destroyed by Geelong's Steven King trying to contest a ball for his troubles. Guys like Jamar, always conspicuously absent from the leadership group, are the reason we lack leadership; not fantastic players from a decade ago.

Just thought I'd agree with it thrice. Jones' turnovers cost us a goal a game. Moloney and Sylvia were disgraceful. Trengrove was lacklustre. Morton and McKenzie battled hard, but aren't exactly game breakers. Bail was on the park. Our defence and attack are really good. Our midfield stinks. EDIT: And don't get me started on Jamar. Jeff White he ain't.

Can we ban this guy? Obvious troll.
