  1. I think it just means that they will have a case to answer
  2. Essendon players finally have been issued show cause notices from ASADA.. Surely this has to help our cause on Sunday, would have to be distracting for the players.
  3. Would think on the back of 6 day break Salem will almost certainly be rested. JKH maybe not seeing he was the sub. I think zaharakis is there most damaging mid after Watson, is a goal-kicker which makes him a bit more dangerous then Heppell but not sure if cross would be able to match zakas pace... IN: Kent, Riley OUT: Salem, Gawn BTW it's round 13 not 12 as the title thread says
  4. 6. Dunn 5. Vince 4. N. Jones 3. Pedersen 2. Cross (beat beames) 1. Jetta
  5. I'd love to think we can do a Port Adelaide and turn things around within 2 years but I don't think that's going to happen. So you don't want to take an 18 year old and wait for him to develope but you'll wait on toumpas/Salem ? No difference. And I'm talking about our ball use out of defence, that's why I would like toumpas tried off half back. Yes there is always a risk in the draft of taking players who's strengths won't hold up to AFL but if you don't draft players because they MIGHT not make it then your kidding yourself. The club should back themselves to be able to develope them well enough once they draft them.
  6. Well considering we won't be challenge for a top 4 for 5 years I don't see what's wrong with waiting a few years for an 18 year old to develope. Hawthorn identified this years ago and went out and specially recruited players who can kick, suckling and birchall are probly 2 of the best kicks in the comp. They traded for Guerra. Strauss is yet another player who has been under developed through the dark years.. I'll back our new coaching staff to develope an 18 year old the right way
  7. Another thing is our turnovers kill us... We are crying out for some good ball users out of the defensive 50. Dunn is about the only good user out of there. Jetta isn't bad but Grimes he is a courageous as they come but isn't a great kick. Tom McDonald is a bloody good defender but lacks any ball handling skills whatsoever, he can't bounce, handball or kick under pressure. Garland is a long kick but not a great user, Terlich is the same. I've said it all year, our 1st or 2nd pick in this draft needs to be used on a half back with elite skills in the grant birchall mauld
  8. I agree.. Don't see why everyone defends him. His is a liability, I'd much rather see toumpas used off half back then terlich. Terlich is on borrowed time, he's a stop gap player and as soon as we are a side pushing for the 8 his gone.
  9. I'm not sure who the commentator was, maybe mike Sheehan ? Going back earlier in the year where he questioned wether Roosy changes his game plan to suit teams(obviously this happens to some extent every week) but does he instruct us in games like today and perhaps the Sydney game to more so stem the bleeding and not let it be a blow out and then in other games gives the boys a bit more license to take the game on. Having said that we really took it up to the top side last week. Today just seemed a lot different to the way we've played the last 5 to 6 weeks.
  10. Jesse white out, Grundy in. JKH the sub
  11. Good point. Would like to have Salem & JKH both at the feet of the talls. I don't know if Terlich offers much as a sub. Will be interesting to see who they go with.
  12. Another thing, who will be the sub ? I think it has to be JKH, as much as I don't want it to be. Salem was too good last week to be sub. Matt Jones would leave us a pure midfielder short. I think it has to JKH unfortunately.
  13. Our fowarline of Dawes, Frawley, Pedersen, Gawn & Watts could really stretch there defence. They only have Frost, Keefe and Goldsack who isn't exactly a key defender. I'd assume Frost will go to Dawes, Keefe to Frawley. Maybe Goldsack to Pedersen ? I'm not too sure who will take Watts and Gawn when his down there... If we can win enough ball out of the middle we can defiantly win this game. Our backline is more than capable of matching up there forwards I'd also like to see Bail play the defensive roll on Langdon or Williams. I'd say: McDonald to Cloke Dunn to White Garland to Elliott
  14. I'm confused, i am a 11 game member.. Can I just walk in like every other week ?
  15. I went to watch the video expecting some obvious indicators that he was leaving the way everyone on here is carrying on.. It was a minute interview FFS.. I don't know wether he'll stay or go but ppl making an assumption off the back of that are just been ridiculous. Like an early poster said his never been comfortable in front of a camera. Just say he wants to stay, what advantage does he get from signing now ? AFL football is a profession and If you were in his position wouldn't you hold out to get a little bit more money from the dees ?
  16. I have a feeling he was omitted from the side. When you think about it last week the sub wasn't going to be Salem or JKH again, riley was the only other real option for the sub and I don't think he's game really suits it. I think maybe they went for Toumpas knowing he could play as the sub and provide more run than riley.. Just a thought
  17. Well first 10 -15 mins of the first quarter we were 25 to 0 in the end we lose by 20.. We basically won the game from that point on. We can't be too critical of our boys, yes we were coming off a bye, yes port was coming off a tough game last week but they are probably the fittest side in AFL history not withstanding there the top side in the comp. I'm disappointed we couldn't come away with the 4 points but seriously we have come a long long LONG way. For us to outplay the form/top side of the comp for 3 quarters is an achievement in itself. Another 10 games this year and pre-season under roosy and we'll really start seeing what this side can produce. It's good were disappointed with the result which means we all have expectations of this side week in, week out!
  18. You taking the p-i-ss ? Don't think in a million years a ruckmen would be sub let alone Jamar!
  19. Could there be something in NUDGE's post... Obviously Mitch had other things contributing to his ill health but he was been weighed down heavily by the large contract he was on and felt as though he was letting the club down. Could there be a theory in that he retired, organised a payout so IF he was fit & healthy & could make a return that he wouldn't be on such a large contract and if things failed again it he wouldn't feel like he was letting the club down... Also when he retired at the time I thought he'd be packed up and moved home to perth within weeks, from what I see on social media etc he is still in melbourne ? I know his health and well being is first and foremost but we can't help but hold out hope that there could be any signs of a comeback...
  20. Here's hoping you have some inside knowledge, i won't get my hopes up but if this happens I'd be over the moon! Firstly for Mitch & secondly the club!
  21. I've had it with this MRP.. They are an absolute joke. How does Dawes slap someone in the face in play and get 2 weeks down to 1 and then ablett throws an elbow at someone behind play and get off scot free... Along with lecreas bump a few weeks ago getting one week, it's a disgrace and the AFL has got to do something about it.
  22. I have heard from a reasonable source from someone back in Perth who has a lot to do with football that John Worsfold has moved to melbourne and is keen on coaching again. Supposedly his presence is the richmomd job if it becomes available, if not he wants the melbourne job
  23. How good is it to have the love for footy & winning back. I was out walking the dog this morning listening to SEN and to hear people talking melbourne up and praising them bought a smile to my face and put a spring in my step. For this first time since the mid 2000's we are a club with some passion and direction and I couldn't be happier. The last few years I've gone to the MCG and almost dreaded going knowing what the result would be, now I can't wait for each week to roll past so I can get to the G to watch the boys and when they run out through the banner with the theme song belting out I know what I'm going to get from the 22 players. I'm excited for the second half of this year and beyond, bring it on! Go Dees.
  24. What really stood out once again for me last night was our poor use of the footy by hand and foot, especially in the back half. I think with one of our top picks this year we have to pick up a strong bodied half back in the Grant Birchall mould who can use the footy well. We need to go down the Hawthorn route and draft players who can kick. Our turnovers are what's killing us, in this day & age of football you can't afford turnovers especially in your defensive half. Apart from that I'm happy with the way we are going, it may not be pretty but we are at least staying in the game for longer. I go to the footy now excited to see what we dish up and that's a lot different to previous years where I've dreaded going to witness yet another massacre.
  25. That relationship is long gone, the way daff was treated was a joke and he was furious with the club. He was working part time at Richmond not sure if he still is or not.
