  1. Weitering has only just come good, and he was a number 1 draft pick. Hipwood and Curnow play as tall flankers rather than key forwards. McKay is another who is only just coming on and I think will be a good player. But these guys are only just coming into the age where they should be impacting consistently. All I'm saying is writing him off at this stage is a tad premature in my opinion.
  2. Only just turned 23 as well. Anyone expecting him to play like a 26-27 year old big key forward is kidding themselves. It's time for him to show a bit, but we can't expect him to dominate. I think people see a Hogan type come straight in an dominate and expect all talks to do it. It just doesn't happen. Edit: for comparisons sake. Hawkins break out year was the year he turned 24 (2012). Until then, he had done very little (except win 2 flags of course). 18 games and 21 goals in 2010, and dropped from the seniors in 2011. I'm not saying Weid will be a Hawkins, but all but the very special big guys take time.
  3. Only works if you are a Telstra customer or have an AFL Live pass ?
  4. Bedford and Pruess were left behind. Source: Instagram Pretty sure Jordon is in Manly too.
  5. How does the "If we lose to the Suns I will..." thread have more post than this thread?
  6. I'm hoping Oscar in means they've given up on Lever playing on a key forward. Let him be the third tall and float/intercept Glad Bennell and Weid are back. If Weid isn't up to it, at least we'll know, but hopefully he gets some confidence and snags a few
  7. Tomlinson, rivers, Smith and hunt out. Weid, bennell, OMac and Jetta in

Harmes? Mentioned in an interview before the game last week his best position is mid resting forward.

We're there for 5 weeks
  10. What another former coach who may be better second time around, ala Ratten? Voss?
  11. I wasn't sure if "older" meant senior or just older. Could include Jones, who has school age children, but could also cover Pruess, Hore, Josh Wagner. Maybe Viney doesn't want to move such a young newborn to a hub (and away from family support)? Edit: Melksham another with older kids.
  12. I made some suggestions in the Hub thread. My thinking is Neita, Kolo, Hore, Petty, Bradtke, both Wagners, Dunkley, Baker will stay. Preuss, Sparrow, Jordon and Chandler make 13, so one will probably come with the team. Will be interesting if any older players stay. Goodwin said families were coming, but I wonder if Jones would really want to bring his school age children for longer than 2 weeks.
  13. Less than the MFC is asking to stay an unassisted club.
  14. Seems we are taking 33 players to the hub (according to Goodwin). Who misses out? Neita, Kolo, Petty, Hore the obvious ones. Bradtke another, perhaps along with Jordon and Dunkley. Both Wagners, Pruess? Another 3 to miss. Edit: Chandler, Baker, maybe Sparrow the other three?
  15. I'm all for positivity Spalding, just not when it's being positive about an obvious weakness for us.
  16. Don't understand the positivity re: wet weather. Despite our 'chaos' ball style, we are shocking in the wet, and Richmond have always been a good wet weather side. We're more likely to not score a goal than win.
  17. Apparently Dees one of three clubs to not have coaches or players affected, along with Geelong and Hawks.
  18. Rowell is a good get, but so are Ellis and Greenwood. They are benefiting from the recruitment of a couple of big, mature bodies and not losing draftees for a couple of years. Couple that with development of their young blokes and playing at home every week (especially against Freo who are a bottom side). They had a good start to last year as well and then fell off a cliff. Not saying it will happen this year, but they still have to sustain it for another 12 weeks.
  19. ACT being floated as well.
  20. Salem is a lazy, lazy footballer. Gets the 50, jogs to the mark when we had 2-3 blokes out the back, and then decides to chip it to a 3 on 1. For a good kick, he doesn't take the game on.
  21. It probably won't be far off. Hawkins to kick 5 straight, Fritta to kick 1.7.
  22. 5 changes, Nev dropped.
  23. 3 And half minutes into the 'all the goals' video, Brayshaw in the 1s with his helmet on
  24. I'd assumed he played with the 2s to get a run in the starting midfield. I thought he played in the 1s in the second half but may be wrong.
  25. And something we are woeful at, at present. Hopefully once the forward line gel they'll get better at this, but we are just so easy to score against on the rebound at present.
