  1. At least we don't go the NHL route for i jury updates. Upper body. Lower body Indefinite, week to week, short term, long term etc.
  2. If Butters didn't play for Port we'd be on the bottom. Surely most of Port's charges and fines are him
  3. The Brayshaw one is the one I'm torn over. He was absolutely the heart and soul for that team, but if we ever thought our players would take a sizeable cut to keep the team together and attract new players, that contract out an end to that belief. We may not have paid market rates for any of those contracts, but we also didn't seem to get a huge discount for any of Gus, Trac, Clarry or Max.
  4. The reporting was that he was paid his base salary and some of the incentives. So not everything, but not surprising a player of his age would have a heavily incentives based contract
  5. Melbourne Demons star Max Gawn’s surprising choice for his successor as captain; GWS Giants captain Toby Greene reveals he punched his father after game due to drunken behaviour While saying he doesn't plan to give it up anytime soon, Max has said he'd if he had to nominate someone to be the next captain, he'd like to see Ed Langdon take over after him
  6. Disappointed no Heath. He looked great last week, so hopefully it's a rest next week and not another example of not being able to play 2 bonafide ruckmen
  7. Sorry, is the travel time not a result of the split?
  8. Would be interesting to know if they still hated it if they weren't split between AAMI and Casey. If everything was in one place, and there was a lifestyle sell to be made (living on the Mornington Peninsula as opposed to in the city), would that mitigate the issues? Possibly not. But it might for some. I think the biggest issue from a facilities perspective is finding a way to kill the wind that plagues the footy oval
  9. Betsy is a racing media company. So it makes sense they would take the racing clubs side. But if this is correct, and the Board can't or won't get this done, they should all resign
  10. I really like the new ruck rule, and hopefully we can find someone who can take the centre square throw ups instead of Max. But unfortunately, I think the rule change will shorten Max's career by a year or two
  11. I know he's young and a bit of a hot head but I don'tlove Taylor complaining to the umps in an intra-club...
  12. A midfield with Koz and Windsor is going to be fun
  13. Ah Mu has sticky mitts
  14. I think that's Monash Uni?
  15. Sorry, I'm using the term 'list' holistically. All SSPs are added to the rookie list, but you still need to have a spot open up. At the end of the year, no-one stays on the Inactive list and the club needs to cut back to a certain number of players on the main and rookie lists. We did that and still kept Henderson. So Henderson is not currently taking up McAdam's spot in the overall list. If McAdam is put on the Inactive list, my understanding is we can choose another SSP, who also goes on the rookie list like Henderson
  16. Yes, because they would have had to cut down list numbers at the end of last year and decided to keep Henderson. So if McAdam is an LTI this year, it's a separate list spot.
  17. Fair enough, although I think the rules for a Cat B listed player and SSP/PSP player are different (which I acknowledge wasn't included in my previous post). The AFL rule book for 2024, also in rule 26 on pg. 99-100 says that to get someone from the SSP/PSP (i.e., train on player), the AFL listed player needs to be on the inactive list, which means they are ineligible to play that season unless another list spot opens up and the club gets permission from the AFL.
  18. This seems like the old LTI/rookie list rule to me. I didn't think rookies needed to be elevated to play AFL anymore. The rules from 2021 (when it was instituted) say that it needs to be a year ending injury or retirement, at which time they are placed on the inactive list and replaced with an SSP
  19. For information, the SSP signing period ends 2 March. So plenty of time for them to assess both Viney and McAdam
  20. Suggest just googling it. But Andy's also asked for it to be kept off here, in line with that sort of thing.
  21. Howes is best mates with Finn Callaghan from GWS
  22. The club didn't share it, looks like it was taken by someone at the photo day and put on instagram
  23. This has been shared from myheartbeatstrue on instagram. Looks very country footy club...
  24. It's been reported he's done a lot of running away from the group this preseason. Interested if this a veteran management thing or a lack of conditioning
