  1. Me too. Totally confused by that interweb thingy. PS I graduated in 1975 with a degree in Computer Science.
  2. I’m sure Staff is a ripping bloke. I’m more than happy to have him coaching the likes of Max, JvR, Petty, Fullarton (?), BBB and our new recruit in ruck craft. But when it comes to coaching players where to position themselves inside the forward 50, how to rove to a pack etc he’s not drawing on his experience. We could well use the likes of Matthew Lloyd, J Brown or even Eddie Betts.
  3. The Keakouer bros had a reputation for waxing. Worked pretty well for them. The Kosimcadam bros - yeah, that’d work.

  5. With Kosi, McAdam, Fritta, Chin, JvR, Fritta, Perry and (soon) Melksham we’ve got a veritable smorgasbord of talent, youth, experience and ability among our forwards. As I’ve said elsewhere, I have my doubts that Stafford is up for the challenge to have them work as a team. Exhibit A: Kosi and McAdam hopelessly flying for a speccy simultaneously.

Not our game but that dirty cheat C.Scott at it again. Votes in Cats v GWS 9 Toby Green GWS 5 M.Holmes Cats 5 Briggs GWS 4 Idun GWS 3 Riccardi GWS 2 Aleer GWS 2 Stengle GWS Ny tip Scott: 5 Holmes, 4 Green, 2 Stengle …
  7. My sentiments exactly. Three marks and seven disposals between them. Petty laid one tackle. Similarly poor results for Petty last week - five disposals and one mark. As you rightly say, the cupboard is bare as far as a replacement for Petty, but surely BBB on one leg or Sestan, albeit 9cm shorter, would offer more of a contest.
  8. As far as I'm aware Troy Chaplin is our Backs' coach and Stafford our Forwards' coach. The reason I bring that up because, IMV, our forward line has not improved one iota in the last two and a bit years. I know I'm off-topic but: We're expecting a former ruckman (Stafford) to turn a beckman (Petty) into a forward. That is failing miserably on every measure. Petty is a great, one grab, mark. But we've only seen it twice this year (v Hawks and Cats). He's a nice kick but we've seen that once as a forward (Tigers last year). Petty is frequently out of position when the ball enters our fifty. I can't recall seeing him on a lead. Currently Harrison is not deserving of his place in the team. A knowlegeable forwards' coach may change that. Similarly McAdam would benefit from having a former player experienced in forward craft coaching him.

Petty. [censored]. Can’t hold a chest mark. Trips over. Well win this with Chin, Petty and McAdam with no goals between them.

Leigh Montagnia on the money re Saints dysfunctional backline. 20 goal haul should be in our sights.

‘an MCG final against the Cats in two weeks’. Self medicating and then posting at 2am is not a good idea.

Treacy something of a dead-eye Dick - 21.4 this season.

Fair enough. It was in the back and there was dissent.

OK, so Petty stays forward. I guess that means the ins are JvR, Langers and Tommo. Given Tommo’s performance against the Pies last year he may get two games to ‘get up to speed’ in preparation for a repeat performance.

Leigh Montagna pulling Saints forward structure to pieces . Ranked last in most categories. Petty playing back (if it happens) will have a field day.

No Hunter in my team. Has done little at Casey and not part of our future IMO.

Blind Freddy can see that Petty is all at sea playing as a forward. He's played 7 games as a forward this year, taking a total of 27 marks, a third of those against the Cats. He's kicked 2 goals. He played back against the Hawks in round 2 and did well with 9 marks and 12 disposals. Petty takes Lever's spot and Roo, Langdon and Fullarton come in. Roo does no ruck work. Full time CHF.

I was in charge of the ‘Never say Die Demons’ banner one year. I lived 17 train stops from the MCG. Not an easy task for a 13 year old.

G’day Mal. I caught up with you at the B&F a few years back. You wee with Rose. Friday nights spent tearing up phone books and Saturday mornings raiding every toilet block within a mile of Yarra park stealing toilet rolls. I don’t miss those days one iota. It was freezing cold. 😀

MT64 Cheer Squad pres at the time?
  21. M_9 replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Cheer squads these days are too soft. In the 1960’s we’d sleep overnight at every H&A game* in order to secure seats behind the goals. *not Vic Park or Windy Hill - too dangerous.

I know the set up coz I live 25km from the ground and a heap of my mates are Cats’ members. Whenever they’ve built a new stand they’ve relocated supporter groups, usually to a better spot.

Wowee. Come on Logan. Just need you to goal for my multibet. Got the other 4 legs already.

WCW likely to have an answer. Probably the same reason that the Cats, prior to the new stand being built, had the away cheer squad on the flank. For some reason seats behind the goals are highly sought after. I reckon the GFC were told by the AFL they had to hand over one end (for TV purposes) when the new stand was built.
