  1. I know the set up coz I live 25km from the ground and a heap of my mates are Cats’ members. Whenever they’ve built a new stand they’ve relocated supporter groups, usually to a better spot.
  2. Blues have dropped 6% and growing
  3. Wowee. Come on Logan. Just need you to goal for my multibet. Got the other 4 legs already.
  4. WCW likely to have an answer. Probably the same reason that the Cats, prior to the new stand being built, had the away cheer squad on the flank. For some reason seats behind the goals are highly sought after. I reckon the GFC were told by the AFL they had to hand over one end (for TV purposes) when the new stand was built.
  5. He’s got a case. It’s the second time in 32 years.
  6. Five highest ranked players are Suns. Holmes next. My guess is that Holmes will get at least 4 coaches’ votes (all from Scott).
  7. BBB can take a ruck contest. No argument. Is he fit enough to play as a ruckman for the 10% of game time Max is in the bench? I wouldn’t have thought so. Furthermore, as I said elsewhere, I doubt this will be the only time we’ll be missing one of our two ruckman. Max injured? JVR injured or reported (again)?
  8. That’d be my tip. Fullarton ahead of BBB only because he can give Max a chop out. Whilst I’ve seen BBB take a handful of ruck contests inside 50m he ain’t capable of rucking outside the arc.
  9. All well and good, but I only want standing room (Southern stand) but I’m forced to pay for a seat. Like finals tickets, you’re only able to purchase a standing room ticket after all seats have been sold. Having access to away games is being eroded more each year. First they scrapped entry to Kardinia Park, sold a game to the NT (no consolation getting free entry to the Hawks game as I already had that) and now more and more games are becoming ticketed. Fewer ‘free’ games but my premium membership goes up in price each year. My tip for KB is 85k - similar to ANZAC eve when there was heaps of space, especially in standing room.
  10. Whilst I agree with most of what you’ve said (BBB and Verrall) I do think it has to be like for like, especially as far as a back-up ruckman. There’s no guarantee we’ll have both Max and JvR for every one of the remaining (17?) games. We need to find a third ruckman, whether it be Verrall, Fullarton, or, heaven forbid, Schache. Furthermore, don’t think you can ‘rest’ a player (Max) on the ground the way the game is played today. Too many attacks start from the backline. All forwards need to play defence at some stage of the game. You can’t chase and tackle if you’re ‘having a break’.
  11. So much for my premium membership giving me access to all home and away games. Firstly Pork Barrel Park was removed, then ANZAC eve (temporarily), Pies …. Bombers and Pies (again)?
  12. I can’t see Tholstrup getting a call up. We’ve got two tall forwards missing, one who is our back up ruck. Tholstrup isn’t a tall forward let alone a back up ruck. TMac going nicely in the backline so I hope the FD keep him there (with no ruck duties). BBB in you’d think but NFI who fills the other spot.
  13. As a member with Away access I received an email from the club today saying as a ticketed event I would not be able to use my card but I could reserve a ticket. There’s stuff all available. I guess that the CFC reserve the bulk of tickets as the Tigers did initially. If you’re planning to attend and you don’t have MCC or AFL membership it’d be an idea to jump on to Ticketek and see what’s available. Very little I suspect (back rows of Southern and Ponsford and two bays on level one Northern).
  14. Not surprisingly our two tall forwards JvR and Petty have polled just one vote. Every chance that’ll be the same come end of season (bar BBB playing a blinder).
  15. Makes sense. Doubt Verrall has family in Melb. Fullarton family in Qld and he's not an AFL debutant.
  16. A Dees fbook site said there was a jumper presentation after training this morning. I guess Fullarton or Verrall.
  17. Meanwhile, back at the thread: Methinks Turner will be the backup ruckman. Plays similar position and is similar size to JvR. New centre bounce rule will favour him in that he won’t need to jump (a la the way Grundy is playing). Two issues - Disco is injury prone and has probably never played ruck in his life. I assume whoever the FD has in mind will be practising the craft at training.
  18. Ch 9 news said JvR will not be going to Perth. Last quarter (?) marking attempt fell forward and hit his head on the turf.
  19. JVR out with concussion. Maybe BBB but who’s our 2nd ruckman?
  20. A draw might be the best result for us?
  21. Wowee. A draw. I predicted this* Mike Williamson 1966
  22. Ah Chee goes ok with a set shot. Back him in every time.
  23. Fogarty goes ok with a set shot. Back him in every time.
  24. Scott’s votes will be interesting- 5 to Z Guthrie and 4 to Holmes. May squeeze a Port player or two in for the minors. Miserable bastard.
  25. As mentioned, the idiocy of Cat’s supporters booing Ratugolea. Akin to us booing Harmes or JJ* I live in Geelong’s territory. They were happy to see the back of him. * happy to be corrected if it happened. I was at both games.
