  1. Channel 7 reporting Melbourne expected to hold back Gawn a further week particularly due to our run of 6 day breaks.
  2. Is it because the players streaming forward don't know how to spot up a lead or the forwards don't lead up? This season so far is hard to tell when the structures have been so screwy without Hogan and Watts/Pederson in the ruck half the time but I think it's the former. If we were to look for another tall I'd prefer Reid who granted has less consistent output (mainly through injury) but will cost less in coin and trade (nothing) and is adept as a forward on the lead and in the air. I still think our biggest issue is ball carrying mids who can spot and hit the leading target. If we can find one of those that would be my preferred (granted doubt we can get in the race for Kelly).
  3. No. Is a creative lead up forward which is not what we need. Also would cost significant overs for what he is worth.
  4. Post view of replay I would have changed these to 6. Jones 5. Petracca 4. Hunt 3. Salem 2. Watts 1. Oliver
  5. I have watched the replay. There was no way Melksham was accountable for let alone tagging Pendlebury. Viney spent more time near Pendlebury than any other player.
  6. I expect the player management will come the second week not the third. Etihad v Domain need very different make ups.
  7. I will watch the replay today but did not note the tag. I noted he was playing deep forward in the last. If that was his role agree won't get dropped.
  8. I'd be bringing the big fella back this week even if he plays more than usual forward rather than next week at Domain. I would not want to go in against the dogs top heavy in our backline at Etihad. Bugg will play to annoy the hell out of Johanissen. O-mac was great second half and good first half (with a couple of errors) but we cant go in too tall again. Melksham and Harmes didn't do enough to keep Wagner out and I suspect Vince will play on The Bont next week opening a half back spot. In Gawn, Wagner Out O-Mac, Melksham
  9. 6. Jones 5. Petracca 4. Hunt 3. Watts 2. Jetta 1. Oliver
  10. We've gone in a back too tall and a mid too short. We continue to play Vince back rather than middle. Too many that can't handle the pressure. Too many that either cant or won't spread as required. Bit of leadership would not go astray. Not out of it but will be quickly if there is not a major change at the first bounce of the half.
  11. We have enough that can play that role we need someone that can play that role and shut down a power forward. I am yet to see whether can do part 2 as he is rarely exposed to them with Talia and Hartigan. Dont get me wrong he is quality but what we would need to pay (if you could convince him( for not being sure if he fits the role we need worries me.
  12. Lever played another great game. As the third defender. The adulation at present comes from his reading of the play and his rebounding with good decision making not his ability to stop a primary forward.
  13. Just finished watching the recording of this this morning. Wagner's performance will out pressure on the bottom 4-6 to perform on Monday. Can see what they are trying to do with Stretch's game and it is starting to work. Played more mid than wing. Was more inside then spread with his possessions and they were more aggressive in movement. Another player of quality if others dont perform. Ben Kennedy's disposal is diaobolical. Understandable why he is not being seen at AFL level. Kent's intent (or lack there of) is diabolical. Is very much just going through the motions (could be injury related but suspect likely more attitude). Weideman worked into the game beautifully. Will get a lot more now out of building his form at CHF at Casey this year in prep for next year. Maynard and Johnstone show capability to build on for the future but the rest are just playing out time and are low depth at best.
  14. A big gaping hole has opened up in the top eight for us. If we cant get up for this one we will seriously rue this missed opportunity.
  15. With Talia and Hartigan at the Crows when does Lever ever play on a decent key forward? He looks great as a third tall interceptor but not much I have seen of him taking the number 1 job.
  16. Doesn't get it enough and when he does slows play or doesn't move it forward aggressively. I believe this is what he has been working on at Casey.
  17. Best game so far: Crows Worst game so far: Losing at the G to Freo did it for me. Most improved player: Oliver, Garlett, Hunt in that order. Special mention to ANB. A player who needs to lift: T-Mac once allowed to settle down back second half of year could be the difference between finals and not. Who is currently leading the Bluey?: Oliver with Hibberd fast approaching. Best recruit: Hibbo Will we make the finals?: Yes.
  18. Made some poor errors but Lynch and Wright had 9 marks and only 4 goals between them and he had 11 1%ers (next closesr was Nev with 6).
  19. 6. Garlett 5. Jones 4. Hibberd 3. Melksham 2. Frost 1. Hannan
  20. Well put. You have become close to my fave poster. Always balanced and eloquent. Kudos.
  21. That is exactly why we are the most frustrating side in the competition. The team that played the second half was completely different to the first. Its also the current frustration of wondering how we would be with the AA ruckmen and one of the most promising power forwards in the land to straighten us up. Great to see Jones put us on his back in the second half and Lewis and Watts make up for lack lustre first halves. T-Mac into the first ruck and Pederson forward shifted the match. Great game by Jeffy for Indigenous round. Take it, learn, rest, reset and move on.

  23. Good to see Lewis, Jones. Watts... show something to wrestle it back. Now the Melbourne way would be to be satisfied with the comeback and lose. Come on boys please prove me wrong.
  24. I would add Melksham and Garlett to the list.
