  1. In my opinion stats do not make a captain - selfless acts do. I did not say he did not win the ball or lay tackles. I pity those that dont understand.
  2. No guessing. I am giving you clear examples of when he did not show leadership. You are giving vague statements like "he pressured and tackled". You are aware that's what they are meant to do? Its like saying he "kicked and marked". I really hope the club dont look at leadership like you do. I couldn't stand another decade of soft culture at this club.
  3. Cannot disagree on Sylvia but you are kidding yourself on Green. It is not about when he has the ball it is about when he doesn't. Let me guess you check the disposal count before you do your bests? Give me examples of his good leadership. It sure as hell wasn't him running to space or putting his body on the line.
  4. 6. Sylvia 5. Rivers 4. Martin 3. Watts 2. McDonald 1. Jones
  5. I nearly choked on my late night pizza reading this. This summary makes me sick and makes me question what you think leadership is. Qtr 1 Melbourne player about to take ball Green chooses to not shepherd and runs out of the way of the Carlton player to try and get an easy kick. He then lambasts the player when he turns it over. Qtr 2 Has options inside 50 but takes a hero's shot for goal to an empty square. Qtr 3 One handed effort in the Carlton goal square resulting in a goal. Green as our captain makes me somewhat embarrassed to support this great club. The only thing more embarrassing is I cant tell you to choose over him.
  6. How do you tackle in the forward line when there is no one in there?
  7. Anyone other than Petterd and Bate. We will be stuck with Newts until Jmar returns.
  8. Good to see someone gets it. Bailey did not try to win he tried to minimized the loss. It was as soft as some of the efforts of our so called captain tonight.
  9. Yep cos Judd would have told a reporter if he wasn't
  10. Because I know you all love it. Tonights team versus Blues has a grand total of 1297 games experience compared to Carlton's 1995. Not that it matters though....
  11. I do not think we have anyone I think capable of tagging Judd therefore I would not tag him and play Sylvia on him and try and hurt him the other way.
  12. Being that there is no tweet regarding Howe debuting I would say he is not playing.
  13. Good to see I am not the only person that picked this up nor do I disagree with them. This is why I struggle with Newton copping so much heat yet nothing on Petterd who was lazy and missed gettable goals early in the game. I would expect he is the most likely to make way for Howe.
  14. I would add Petterd to that list. Yes Newton had a brainfade but he kicked two and pressured. Brainfade aside what is the angst he is copping and why is more of it not aimed at Petterd and Bate?
  15. Can you show me your changes. We will not win with players like Newton, Bate and Petterd so why not blood the kids. We have very limited options to play on Carltons small forwards and they will kill us with the players we had moving the ball off half back today. Should we bring back in Bennell and Morton who have yet to learn from the reasons they were dropped in the first place?
  16. Went to the footy with a non-Melbourne supporter yesterday who stated that Watts was clearly the best player on the ground. If anything I find some Melbourne supporters expectations of Watts as ludicrous yet they are usually the same people who drool over Hurley (has played about 3 good games) and any other first rounder who plays a half decent game.
  17. I agree Jaded. I think his hand will be forced next week as there is no way that backline will be able to match up on Betts, Garlett and Walker. He will need to bite the bullet and bring in some smaller types. We will be expected to lose so the experience that such a game will bring to Blease, Nicholson or Struass will be invaluable. I just dont think he has the balls to do it.
  18. This is the point that alot of people are missing. I thought we went just as hard at the ball today (a couple of incidents aside)than Richmond and Essendon who I watched tonight. Essendon looked like worldbeaters 3 weeks ago but injuries to Dempsey, Winderlich, Hurley, Watson and suspension to Hocking and how suprising that they fell over the line against Brisbane and lost last night. Richmond looked great the last 4 weeks. I wonder how much that has to do with only one player missing out of their best 22 (Kelvin Moore).
  19. I have noted that Bailey alluded to looking at what we do with Aaron "but its hard because we need some good kicks across half back". What is the point of someone being a good kick if they dont work to get the ball so they can kick in the first place?
  20. You're kidding right? Gets the ball well disposes well most time but he tries to do too much, refuses to put on defensive pressure and put in short steps twice yesterday. Take the first option and start to tackle and chase and I would then agree.
  21. Out Bate, Davey. Petterd, Tapscott In Cook, Howe, Blease, Strauss
  22. Anyone who believes Davey is a top player is kidding themselves. He has lived on reputation alone for 2 years. Comparing Davey to Flower just made me feel ill.
  23. Your Jones love aside could not have said the rest better myself.
  24. Good to see I am not the only one who notices this. Offers no defensive and than when he gets a shot at goal it really is just chance the way the come off the boot as to waht occurs. A player way overrated by majority of Dees supporters.
