  1. This group is beyond anyone's saving. Trengove cant run, Sylvia wont run, Grimes cant kick, Howe takes the occasional screamer that hides his lack of work ethic. These are players that should be seriously influencing games but don't have the ethic, attitude, talent or a combination of the three to make a dent. Apologies to Spencer, Jones x 2, Clisby and Viney but the rest were an embarrassment to the jumper.
  2. Your kidding. After all that half your critique is that Viney goes to ground too much. Very low on our list of issues.
  3. MFC can [censored] off. I don't mind errors but Jones, Spencer, Watts, Viney aside they play with such lack of effort and attack on the call that its embarrassing. If I was Roos I wouldn't taint my legacy by touching this rabble.
  4. Dont run hard enough. Dont dispose well enough. Kent has been gifted games for a month so I am not surprised. Spencer cracking in well but Gawn and Fitz as well is too tall.
  5. I am one of Lynden Dunn's harshest critics, not for what he does, but for the way he carries on and more so for his on occasion poor efforts in not going when it's his turn. However for those of us that want him out of the side interesting to note that he leads the leagues defenders in % of one on one contests won inside 50, only being beaten 3 times all year. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-08-02/the-frugal-suspects Credit where its due thats an impressive effort and provides context as to why as frustrating as he is he has been a mainstay all year.
  6. There is a difference between putting it on the table for and taking the right offer and putting it on the table and taking the best offer you can get. Who would you want from StKilda, Brisbane, Carlton or Western Bulldogs to be willing to trade it?
  7. Good to see he can't spell Trengove's name like most Dee's people so he would fit in well. I find it interesting not that pick 1 or 3 would be on the table but that he would trade them for the best mid he could get.
  8. And here I was thinking a key defenders job was to beat his man and stop him kicking goals. It would be great for Tom to improve his disposal but if he doesn't and becomes the best stopper in the game (which he has the tools to do) then as long we don't use him as our exit out of the backline and he plays to his limitations when he does have the ball I see no issue. His disposal will not stop him being an All Australian defender his ability to beat his man will. I will be disappointed if he is not given first chop at Cameron today and expect him to acquit himself well.
  9. You had me with this theory until I got the bit where you justified keeping Davey in the side.
  10. We had 2 inside 50s in the first quarter because when we actually got our hands on the ball we looked forward and there was Hansen. So what did we do? We either kicked it to him or we just went backwards or sideways to McDonald or whoever was free in the back 50. Pretty standard move would have been to man Hansen up and see if it changed the ball movement. It was obvious we lacked run off half back without Garland and Terlich. It was also obvious that Grimes was not getting near it in the midfield nor Blease in the forward 50. Putting Grimes off half back or Blease there in bursts were worth a try in the first half. We were still in the game because of Norths poor kicking but instead Craig did pretty much nothing. Neither of these things would have won us the game but not trying things as a coach for me is the equivalent of not having a go on the field.
  11. On the way to being 100 points behind what did he do to change the momentum of the game?
  12. Agreed but what changes did Craig make during the game to attempt to change the flow of the game? How long did it take him to realise having T-Mac loose was of no benefit when Hansen was loose. That M Jones on Harvey and Grimes on Wells was not going to work.
  13. It would be good for people to list who they think we can land with pick 2. Realistically we would be paying serious overs for a player not worth it. There is no maturing quality mid with go home factor. Even if there was looking at the interstate sides the only ones worth pick 2 would be Dangerfield, Hanneberry and Kennedy. To my knowledge there is no out of contract star we can entice with money that isn't already available via FA except for Martin and then you would attempt that through the preseason draft. If we end up with a priority or pick one through our own incompetence then maybe something extraordinary will fall our way when clubs egos get involved over Boyd. Use the high end picks to secure quality kids (just get it right) but trade 2nd and 3rd round or players to fix the gaping midfield hole in our list.
  14. Out Pederson, Blease, Davey, Kent In Garland, Terlich, Strauss, Taggert
  15. I love how everyone sees things black and white. Was today acceptable. No. Was the size of the result directly related to our previous two weeks. No. Did the previous two weeks contribute to the margin. In my opinion in a big way. Our midfield is crap on a good day let alone when they can't run.
  16. Players who won beat their opponent 6. Frawley 5. Dunn Players who at least got their hands on the ball and attempted to create. 4. Sylvia 3. Clisby 2. N Jones 1. Gawn
  17. Not saying I enjoyed it or we should not have performed better but sitting close to the fence it was pretty obvious we were done 5 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter.
  18. There is no doubt that today was unacceptable. We made poor decisions and our offensive movement of the ball was close to non-existent. However anyone that thinks playing Etihad off the back of Darwin and the wet of Geelong wasn't a massive factor in the second half has NFI.
  19. I am on record as I cannot stand Dunn and the sooner he is out of the side the better. However he clearly beat Thomas, did not shirk a contest today and to my recollection only cost us one goal with an error today. Craig has gone on record as stating the rest of the year is about team and individual development. There is no benefit to playing Davey. I hope today was his last in the MFC jumper.
  20. The thing that would be worse is if we put him on a fat long contract and he is not in our starting 18 in 2 years. He is not a gun. He has the potential to be an A grader but so have numerous other players we have held onto for way too long.
  21. Short list contender for most irrelevant post in the history of DL. Absolute GOLD.
  22. Whilst I understand the sentiment, offer Jack what is fair and what he deserves but not overs. He does not deserve the farm nor does he deserve a long term deal. Whilst we have mis-managed Jack early on he has also admitted he has not done enough, particularly early on to get the most out of himself. Therefore he should owe us as well. If Clark, Dawes, Fitzy, Hogan, Howe, Watts are fit ask yourself where he plays? Rate your most important players for us now and in the future and realistically decide where he fits in our premiership 18. I would love him to keep the faith and stay and make the most of his talents but I want us to be fair and reasonable with what we do and if he wants to leave milk it for all we can.
  23. If we get inside 8 goals of North today I will be amazed. We are coming off two energy sapping slow tracks in the rain of Geelong and the heat of Darwin to play probably our biggest bogey side at our biggest bogey ground which happens to be the fastest track in the land. Everything says massacre to me but I will be there as thats what you do.
