Bankstown/Gold Coast Demons

Maccas first masterstroke.

Is it true?!? Whispers are the Dees might relocate for a short period 5 or 10 yrs, to grow the brand and the sport in hostile rugby territory with significant AFL support. This will make the Demons the first national franchise and rope any newcomers into the club. Brilliant idea, apart from the downside of leaving melbourne. An independent study which investigated the Australian population growth dynamics including new migrants, moving australian residents and likely new followers of AFL etc., identified the Gold Coast closely followed by South West Sydney as the best places to grow the brand. Depending on the success of the plan, splitting home games therafter may be considered, although player fatigue was queried as a drawback. Talks are underway with AFL hierarchy.

Be damned if any other new club will steal potential supporters from the FIRST CLUB of this great game. This is our prirority pick which we earned and wont snuffle this time!

Yeah, just a little relocation.

I think it'd be great if we could move interstate at the exact moment when we've secured first-class training facilities at a brilliant central location, after twenty or thirty years of searching.

I also think moving temporarily to a new area would really inspire loyalty and interest - nothing like saying 'we're just here til we have your money and then we're going back home again' to bring in the crowds.

And I think temporary flipping back and forward is the exact plan that the AFL would want to see when it's trying to build strong internal rivalries and tap into local identity in the northern states. So they'll definately support it.

And it won't at all [censored] off all of our players, staff, coaches, and fans in Melbourne, to the point where they'll either overthrow the club leadership or simply get the hell away from us and never accept our return.

Let this one go, it's no good.

Kudos to Dalrot for spotting the previous attempt.

And I have a serious problem with the blatant attempt to put words in the mouth of our club CEO. That is simply unethical.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
