Zebs by 94 points halfway through the last but Juice has been reported (not much in it though).

Reserves won by 4 goals. Trent Zomer kicked 3 goals, Kyle Cheney in the best players.

Bate?

Please tell me Bate is playing. We NEED another forward target in the senior desperately.

Get Sautner out of the [censored] team.

call me selfish but i couldn't care less about whether sandy wins. i just want to see our players develop.

With Robbo 28 and Neitz about to retire, we are in desperate need for our young key forwards to develop.

that means we need to have Bate and Newton playing the key posts, not bloody saunter and poyas

Yeah but Sandy want to win, and it's their team, not ours. hence the problem with affiliated sides.

exactly... this game shows just how much a strong affilliate doesn't result in a strong AFL team... box hill got smashed by us, but we saw what happened when melbourne took on hawthorn a month ago...

Bazza, how did Steph Martin go?

baz how come only 3 quarter time scores? zebras tearing it as usual!

No goals to Maric, damn

And can someone send Sautner to a retirement home? He is taking a spot away fron Newton, Bate, Martin etc etc

Bazza, how did Steph Martin go?

I'm not Bazza but he played a solid game in defence, still learning but improving all the time.

Can you tell us what the go with Matty Bate is?

????

Newton, Bate and Martin ALL played today.........even your namesake had a good game today....

Martin was excellent in defence

Bate was good...maybe needs one more week

Newton showed a bit of heart today...even took a semu speccy....

I fail to see how Sandy are holding anybody back....some examples of this happening would be interesting to see...

We play to win...strange concept I know...but that's how it is

Go Zebras...Go Dees

He played today for Sandy. Went ok and got a few kicks. Nothing special but would imagine he'll go straight up with the way the Dees are travelling at the moment.

I missed the game, I was @ the 'G'.

First game I've missed for a while.

"Get Sautner out of the [censored] team."

Couldn't agree more, Sylvinator.

Yet another advantage for Coll. and Geelong.....their own proper reserves, with the Seniors being the main priority. Carltank will be next to have proper reserves..

i cant believe that no one has yet asked about garland? BOG? where did he play what did he do?

out of interest box hill are on the bottom and winless. sandy are a very strong side. does this mean that good performances today arent as valuable do you think? (aimed at those who saw the game)

also arent box hill the hawks affiliated team?

interesting that they are on top in the afl while we're on the bottom, but our 2nd tiers are so different...

If I was going by the best players, I'd be happier if I was a Hawks fan. Renouf, Kennedy and Morton have all got wraps about them, and McGlynn is a depth player. Whereas Garland, Yze and Warnock aren't the answer to our prayers.

So people are calling for youngsters to be brought in, but after 3 games they are condemning Garland as not good enough.

I was at the Sandy game last week and Garland was very good. He's still very raw but he has some of the natural attributes that could make him an excellent player.

People are too impatient and it's indicative of the 'magic pill' society we live in.

Also, you can't compare the two teams' best players. One team got pumped by 15 goals so there was an obvious difference. For all we know McGlynn could have had 47 touches, but equally he may have been best because he put in a good team effort. Apples/oranges.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
