If Neitz is retiring

Featured Replies

And here I thought we could not get weaker, with Bruce showing the way, I think we would become a weaker side, physically and mentally. Never once has he played well when satnd in captain, at least green did, Junior has to lead if Neitz retires.

Chris Johnson.

No man who wears fancy pants when they run out to play should be captain. What is with those Cameron?

I want Neitz as captain, if this is not to be – forget the leadership group and go with Rivers - best player we have got.

Junior !!! After the way the players lifted for his 200th game.

 Yes, a 95-point loss is really 'lifting'.

Yze Magic im interested in your pick so we can all have a laugh

I will say that your choice of Brad Green is pretty good.

But my pick is Jared Rivers.

The youngtsers need someone to look up to, and it doesnt get much better than the backline general who is the most courageous player on the list.

Anyone that picks Bruce for Captain must be content with our 40 years of mediocrity.

Anyway Golly, hope you didnt laugh too hard,

If Neita retires from after Sunday, who will be the captain for the rest of the year? Or will it be shared? What do people think?

My money is on Bruce.

RIVERS : Just might help keep him in Red & Blue & would be a 10 year appointment

Franky,

you suggested Miller as captain. please leave the site.

Ahh, there's the accecptence of the diversity of opinion we have come to loath......

For the record my money would have been on Green or Rivers, but who the hell really knows!!!

Junior and Rivers co-captains

Cameron Bruce will be our next captain and rightly so.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
