Melbourne demons finals:

1998,2000,2002,2004,2005,2006, including a grand final, preliminary final and a few 5ths (shouldve probably gotten preliminary finals).

we have gotten some awesome entertainment and finals over the last 10 years.

Why should you support this club.

Becuase to stop supporting the club when we are down is farkin pathetic, weak and deplorable.

u should be ashamed of yourself!!!!

Well said.

Its the bad times that make the good times so good.

U KNO WAT I WAS REALLY CONFIDENT TODAY WE WERE GUNNA WIN BUT FFS TOO MANY TURNOVERS RESULTED IN GOALS!!!!! WE ARE THE WORST CLUB GOING AROUND WITH PROBABLY SOME OF THE WORST PLAYERS!!! IM NOT A BLOKE WHO GOES OFF LIKE THIS INFACT IM A CHILLED PERSON BUT THIS PEFORMACE IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN!! [Edited] ROBBO LEARN TO KEEP UR FEET!! ARRHHH SOO BLOODY ANGRY!!

I could think of plenty, but would rather see if you have the balls to follow up this post and actually leave.

There's no good reason. The Club would be better off without 'supporters' like you!

I would give you five reason but judging from your post YOUR NOT A MELBOURNE SUPPORTER

1. You never begin supporting a club with a proviso that when they lose, you quit. You support your club, especially this club, through thick and thin and that red and blue blood that beats through your heart is thicker than any other.

2. The new breed: Cale Morton, Austin Wonemarri, Stefan Martin, Simon Buckley, Paul Johnson, Jack Grimes, Addam Maric, Clint Bartram. Shane Valenti, Tom McNamara.

Players waiting for our deadwood to move on and assert themselves meaningfully: Brock Mclean, Daniel Bell, Nathan Jones, Lynden Dunn, Aaron Davey, Matthew Bate, Brent Moloney, Ricky Pettard, Jared Rivers.

3. I believe we have assembled a winning off field team. Bailey (give the man time, he has no bricks, only rubble), CC (moving and shaking), Paul McNamee (serious clout).

4. You want to be amongst it to see off senior football for David Neitz (past it, I dare anyone to deny this and put forward a meaningful case), Russell Robertson (uninterested egomaniac), Mark Jamar (not an AFL footballer), Adem Yze (all done, all done), Jeff White (footsteps) and Benny Holland (pathetic).

5. Because only with the support of you and every other Melbourne supporter will this once great club, be great again.

Beautifully put Fork. Dazzle Davey, you obviously spoke out in a moment of passion - which means you do care, so thats another reason to hang in there

DD take Yze magic with you...We dont want you

Theres a tie for club house leader

All well and good to talk about the new breed. There's been a new breed every year. No premierships since 1964!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris Johnson is Mitch Hedburg Mach II, funniest bastard ever to watch.

Plays just as stoned as Mitch was.

R.I.P

Coz if you don't back your mob when they're down, mate, you've got no right to take any credit when the good times come. It's called being a 'fair weather' supporter. Carna Hawks!

COMPLETE GIBBERISH, but the [Edited] cracked me up.

It's all well and good to bag anyone/anything when they're down. You have to go to the games each week in the hope that something might happen. I thought we were still a chance a 3/4 time last week, but something had to change quickly. It didnt of course. I found my 1980 Redlegs medallion a while ago. I remember going to the footy and we'd beat Fitzroy and St Kilda twice a year. They were dark days under Barassi and his 5 year plan. But we still went every week to hell holes like Moorabbin, Victoria Park, Windy Hill etc. Then Swooper came along and i could say that i went every week during the 'dark days'!!!

It will change, and change quickly. Read somewhere that 35 games ago we were on top of the ladder! Reckon we should set out sights on winning 7-10 games this year.

Lot of negative sentiment on this site and that's understandable at the moment. But people who dont know what they're talking about - see ya later

hope is what drives me on, i will not rest until i can one day be the king at my mates place on grand final day. i dont smoke, so im keen to live for another 50 years to be that king on GF day.

  • 3 weeks later...

Through thick and thin & so i can be part of last sunday. We have great history that will grow. THAT'S WHY

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
