SANDRINGHAM vs. FRANKSTON Reserves

Sunday 13th April

Trevor Barker Beach Oval at 11:10 AM

SANDRINGHAM

Backs Cheney Curcio McNamara

Half Backs Weetra Gribbin Plymin

Centreline Waller Paterakis Vickers

Half Forwards Hardiman Summons Gilchrist

Forwards Lyall Cleeve Lockwood

Followers Zomer Dean Martyn

Interchange (from) B Liddell Maric McConnell Spencer Sargent Teasdale Tregear Williams

Looks like the 12:10 rule is playing havoc with selection of both Sandy teams.

So Weetra goes from AFL to VFL reserves....

Think of it this way.

His got a taste and now knows what's required to be AFL standard. It's in his court now.

Josh Hill was terrible last year and listening to doggies supporters, he was paddling up sheet creek.

I'll give those two boys a bit more time.

wtf!! why is maric named on the forward pocket for the 1s but is named on the bench for the 2s?

With the 12/10 rule and with Meeson and PJ out it would be reasonable to assume that Spencer will play as second ruck to Martin. This will mean that Maric and Weetra will be playing for Sandy's seconds.

Also, is there any reason why Zomer did not get picked after his 7 goal effort last weekend?

He wasn't named in their best so maybe they were the only 7 touches he had? Dunno.

And whoever said Carroll is 189cm is cutting him a bit short (literally). Willing to bet he'd be taller than that.

The idea of fast racking Frawley has its merits but remember that Nathan Brown is 195cm and 97kg - considerably bigger than Frawley (for whoever brought that up)

He has had one chance so far and blew it comprehensively with a rather meek performance. His repeated lack of effort highlights some compelling concerns about his core attitude to making it in AFL.

He really needs to tear it up at Sandy over the next few weeks and demonstrate he has the desire to do all the things necessary to be an AFL footballer. Only then should he get another chance.

I didn't think his second efforts and alike were too bad. Still better than Robbo and Neitz.

But like you said, he only got one chance.

Garland got three chances after showing next to nothing, CJ is about to have his second after showing next to nothing and Miller has shown a tiny bit more than nothing and is still going.

I don't believe he was injured last week, I saw him a couple of times & he was fine. It makes more sense to me that after he & Bailey had heated words, that they have told him to sit it out until your ready to play & train hard.

I am a fan of his talent, but growing annoyed @ his laziness & lack of drive.

Is that just a guess or a fact?

There's a couple of threads on these things over @ demonology. Putting the rumours together with having seen & spoken to some players @ the 'G' against the doggies, it all seems to fit as far I'm concerned.

Take from that what you will.

You know that Bailey is changing the culture as his first (it seems) priority. THANKFULLY.

Don't worry about the ladder this year, who cares. I'd rather finish down the LWR end than 9/10/11th & pickup more talent like Morton or the one we could have taken, Henderson.

It's all good for our future crack @ a premiershio, instead of just building a competative team that gets near the finals but can't go on.

So its not a fact just mere speculation dressed up as a fact.

I didn't think his second efforts and alike were too bad.

But like you said, he only got one chance.

I think he got hit on two counts.

Slack attack on the ball and failure to chase and pressure.

For a player with his ability his poor attitude and mindset have undermined. He was sent down to learn a lesson and show that he wants to belong.

I dont think it always the end result but what you show in achieving the results. Garland less developed than Newton but tries and struggles at AFL level at the moment.

While not being the best player by a long shot Millers efforts and his leadership give him stay over talented players who are slack.

Neitz and Robbo are burning credits at the moment.

If Newton truly has it then he will get back in.

Rivers- Good defender, but certainly doesn't thrive at full back. more suited to across half forward. Plays best footy against the 3rd best forward where he can dominate them and float across half back

rivers plays on the best forward every week. the only reason you assume he is the third defender is because he is so good at reading the play that he drops into the space. don't seel rivers short, he is our best defender, and moving him to a HFF would be a waste.

you are correct we dont have a second quality KD. carrol will play the third man and hopefully frawley will be the FB eventually.

you forgot to mention tom macnamara in your analysis.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
