maybe we should get some players shipped in from china to help us out (made in china, so to speak). either way, there have been rumours flowing around on 3AW with neil mitchel today that the title has changed from demons to just the dees because the word demon is offensive or something in china. any truth to this? And, in all seriousness, why does the club even care about china? does anyone have info on why we are wasting time and money in china?

Well the club obvviously believes that it can reap some financial rewards in the future. EPL clubs have benefited from involvement with China - Everton etc. Perhaps the club willl international list a player from China and hope to parlay that into a sponsorhip or other financial benefit.

I've actually seen quite a few young Chinese people in Demon scarves walking to the G', and even some cars owned by Chinese people with MFC stickers on them...which you'd hardly ever see.

Perhaps the experiment could be gaining momentum. Although they probably would want a more appealing side to go for.

Actually I did notice quite a lot (realively) of Chinese on Sat.. well where I was.. lol.. Some even with a bit of red and blue on...but that might have been coincidental.

Felt sorry for the blighters...imagine coming to this year's opening games as your first foray to the G !!:(

At first I thought this idea was just fantasy. But I am warming to the idea. At the very least there is a large asian community in Melbourne that are completely untapped.

We can run educational tours...explain to them that its just like golf...team with lowest score wins!

Far fetched perhaps but Mugabe would get away with it in Zimbabwe

I don't think people really understand the whole China idea.

Its not about trying to gain the attention of the Chinese living in China. Its about the huge amounts of Chinese students living in Melbourne who could jump on board the club.

As was said above, there is a massive untapped Asian market in Australia, and if we get get them supporting the red and blue then the MFC will benefit hugely.

And we can still call them the Demons - even if its not the 'official' name of the club.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
