I paid my membership yesterday and suffered a horrible depressing afternoon in the southern stand after driving two hours from Gippsland. Time to think about some of the posts (and reactions to) posts on demonology and demonland.

A fair degree of sniping and cheap shots are only natural when your team is way down and sometimes make insightful reading. But judging comments by (Chris Connolly?) in the media recently, not always appreciated. As a means around this negativity, and in order to foster some accountability amongst d'landers and ologists, (as we expect from the club) why isn't it mandatory to put your mfc membership number somewhere when registering a post? That way the true believers can vent their spleen and the barrackers can scream from the sidelines. That way those from the club who occasionally read these websites will know what the genuine gut reaction of paid-up members is.

There has been talk about no sub-committees at melbourne and how we are run by the staff. well this is a way to have a genuine 'online', sub-committee which all can genuinely bounce around ideas and emotions about the future direction of mfc.

Secondly, why do the car stickers not have 1858-2008 printed on them? Instead some wordy vague phrase about 'being a part of it'.

Top idea re the membership no`s.. and I will be the first to do so. This s a top forum and a great way to make suggestions , vent spleens etc among true die hard supporters. I only signed up to the site y`day, but a supporter nearly 40 years and I think anyone who has a stab (like we all have the last 24 hrs) on these 2 sites and is not a paid up member should be ashamed of themselves. I love footy and I love the D`s (only a close 2nd to my poor English wife who has inherited the D`s to support for life) If we dont get more members out there the future looks worse than the heartless performance we all saw y`day.

I see that as a bit of a hierarchy system, where certain posters are respected more than others. Just because someone is a paid up member does not mean their opinion is more important or better than another person. This is a forum, not a monarchy.

Also, I would imagine that there would be a few members of both forums who - for some reason or another - whether it be geographical, financial, etc. can't be a member.

I am not sure what you hope to achieve by including membership numbers. Irrespective it would be used in some way to separate members and non members from each other.

At the end of the day we are all Demons......Sure it would be great to have more supporters join up to be members but we need to be realistic that for some watching highly paid boys showing lack of pride in the red and the blue a non reason to give their money.......

Heart and soul has a price after all...............Yes I am a member and have been for quite some time.....Yes I frequent games and yes will continue to do so for as long as MFC exists but even I am becoming increasingly irritated by the lack of passion shown on the field......MFC players need to start showing heart and soon......too much blue and not enough Red " Heart " for my liking..........

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p

    TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

    TRAINING: Monday 13th January 2025

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie
