I don't want to tank in the Cartel Football Club fashion.

I mean an actually tank...a big one, big enough to excite people!

This tank can be a rallying point for the "March to the G" QB weekend.

The tank should have some red & blue insignia on it. Club legends can ride on it: Barassi, Flower, Stynes etc

We could have replica WWII GI helmets Red & Blue one's [cheap, light plastic]. We could all wear $1.00 red MFC plastic ponchos for maximum visual effect

Caroline Ferguson, the 3AW traffic chick can give "traffic reports" re the tanks progress to the G [she's a Dee supporter and may do it if I ask really nicely].

We will need a marching band of course [i would have suggested Scotch or Melbourne Grammar in the 150th year but being a long weekend this might not wash].

Why would the Army give us a tank I hear you say?...PR I reply, great photo op AND they can set up a recruitment / PR tent at one of the biggest games of the year, with their tank parked beside it.

Can this be done...or am I just DeeReaming?

If we dont have a PR bloke...this guy gets my vote..!! lol

Red and Blue army.. I kinda like it..lol  :D :P

Now I know many people would laugh and scoff at things like this.. I strangely think its got a certain "oomph " to it.

Its a tad Bransonish... now there a Sponsor ................................ ( Hmm Demons and Virgins !! hehehe )

oh and the media would lap it up !!!

" MELBOURNE TANKS FIRST GAME !!!" theyd play it for all it was worth. what a hoot..lol

Also in a way it would start the reclamation of it being OUR 150th !!

Is the MFC the tank or the man?

 Brilliant

Actually if you look closely its a picture from last year...thats James Brayshaw standing in front and Andrew Demetriou is driving the lead tank

great idea 'DeeReaming' but what if we did it for the DEES v carltank game @ around rnd 5.

If you can,t get permission for a tank on the road we could get someones small tray truck & dress it up with visy cardboard boxes into the shape of a tank with landcruiser (see sponsor, toyota) emblems, & No5 on it. No doubt it would have a small barrell pointing backwards & we could push it to the 'G'. :)

if no tank....possibly an armoured personnel carrier.. still quite forboding.. rated for all roads !! just idea

BB59 an Armoured personnel carrier will create much the same effect [although the more clanking noise the better] a lot depends upon if the army goes for it, if so it all costs next to nix for the MFC.

MFC Marketing & Communications Officer quite likes the tank idea for the QB "march to the G"

Bit of bloody razz-a-ma-taz.

I am informed that to help stir the blood there will be bagpipers to accompany the march....hoots man

And if that's not enough for you I am assured that breakfast at Fed Square is free.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
