Well we now know the makeup of about 90 % of our players, and that list aint at all too shabby !!! Not perfect... far from the sieve some of us may have described the list not so many years back !!

Now...

Where do we put everyone ?? This qustion would be far easier answered in 09..when two things happen...1...we know more about those we just recruited in AFL terms...and 2 We know who will for what ever reason have played their last ( or likely last ) game for the Red and Blue .

Given that not everyone is going to get a start in 08.. but also the predisposition already announced by the new chiefs that players will progress sooner rather than later ( as in past ) , who goes where ??

Im now going out.. I expect 10 good attempts when I get back..lol.

seriously.. i've alredy given myself a headache thinking about this.. there are some fairly easy slots..and some with a few vying for the jumper.

Oh happy days

Roll on 2008 !!!!!!!!!!!

Emergency- Simon Buckley, Chris Johnson, Paul Johnson

depth- Ben Holland, Warnock, Jamar

developing- Cale Morton, Jack Grimes, Addam Maric, Tom McNamara, Kyle Cheney, Colin Garland, Weetra

That's our entire list-

We've really strengthened our midfield this draft with Grimes and Morton. Kyle Cheney could be a running half back flanker. Maric will fill our need for a small forward, giving davey help and releasing davey to the wing.

i expect the big improvers in 2008 to be Colin Sylvia moving permanently into the midfield, Colin Garland to be a dozen games as a 3rd tall backman and Matthew Bate to continue his development as a star hard working, goal kicking CHF.

Well if Meesen is impressive enough in pre-season to take the number 1 ruck spot then I will be a happy man

But you dont just hand it to him if White is still the best option come round 1

C: BUCKLEY, MOLONEY, DUNN

HF: YZE, MILLER, WEETRA

F: P.JOHNSON, HOLLAND, MARIC

FOLL: JAMAR, GRIMES,

Can't complain about getting the best player at the under 18's championships I would think Morton would fit straight into our side.

I hope Grimes is more of a midfielder than halfback, we have problems with both areas so it probably doesn't matter.

Maric is the type of player we need to help out Davey that has almost signalled an end to Sampi's career, I think we need to go for a midfielder or key forward in the PSD Sampi is neither and his knee problem can't be helping him and CAC doesn't sound to keen on him.

I would doubt that there would be any good key forward's under 23 in the PSD so that leaves midfielders, maybe Ryley Dunn can get another go. Connelly would know him better than anyone and must have seen something in him to have picked him so high a few years ago.

McNamara's height worries me and no one has said anything about Cheney's running ability we are desperate for a small backman who is quick can link up and use the ball well.

The 3rd tall backman worries me I think Frawley should be the favorite for the spot but he really hasn't done anything to suggest that he can play that position, Miller is probably next in line and I hope for our sake Miller doesn't hardly play a game for us cause he is useless and we should have got rid of him when we had the chance.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
