David Trotter today was delisted by the kangaroos. He was a top 10 pick in the 2003 draft. To be honest we should pick up this guy in the PSD. He is very fast runner playing off the HBF and as a midfielder. I've heard by some kangaroos supporters that he has one of the cleanest and best kicks at the club. I have always rated this bloke but unfortunately his hamstring troubles have limited his opportunities at the biggest level

Do you think we should pick him up in the PSD or maybe the Rookie Draft?

ATM he is injury free. and all of his injuries in the past have just been minor 1-2 week hamstring strains. He hasn't had any reconstructions or big surgeries so i think there is no reason why we shouldn't pick him up.

if he has a problems with hammys then no. trust me id have him in a heartbeat! but hammys just keep coming and coming

people have been attacking CAC as a recruiter in recent times...

for me he has been excellent recruiter- particularly in the last 4 years he has drafted- Mclean, Sylvia, Jones, Bate, Pettard, Frawley, Davey, Bell, Bartram, Newton, Dunn- all of these playing look to be very successful picks.

but his main critisism have been the odd miss, particularly when it has cost a 1st rounder.

his 2 main misses were Nick Smith at pick 15, and Molan at pick 9....

now i think its important people realize that 1st rounders sometimes dont turn out as expected. the draft can be a lottery sometimes, and this year has proved it...

1st rounders to be delisted recently:

Ryley Dunn- pick 12

Keplar Bradley- pick 6

Trotter- pick 10ish

Kane Tenace- still at geelong but looks like a big miss-pick7

im sure there are many many many other first rounders who didn't make it. i think ppl should take this into perspective when attacking CAC for the odd stuff up, when overall he has a fantastic record of finding talent, especially with late picks- Bartram, Bruce, Robertson, Davey, Whelan!

I would pose the following question " who of our delistings should we reselect" ? Why is it then that we should pick up every delisting from every other club ? I am amazed how every time a new delisting is named there are those seeking their selection by us. Are we the league dumping ground? I am not suggesting that we won't gamble on a delisted player who we see something in, but lets all show some restraint.

I no what you mean. Maybe we'll draft him and then send him to receive treatment by soft-tissue expert Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfarth in Germany who fixed max rooke.

It's not as if all rejects turn out to be bad. Look at a few who couldn't make the gradeat one of the AFL's least successful clubs Fremantle. There's Peter Bell, James Clement, Brodie Holland, Nathan Carroll...even Trent Croad. Sooner or later we'll find one out there somewhere.
