My beep test is endless. My life is one big, long beep test. I’ve had to rein it in for the last month while my little grandy was here. It’s been tough but now that they’ve left Aus I’m free to say whatever the [censored] I wanna say, whenever the [censored] I wanna say it and to whom the [censored] I wanna say it. Got a [censored]-tonne of blasphemy to catch up on. 😂

Hmm. For a veteran it sounds like you're f**k**g killing the beep test!

Culley a massive standout. Think we've got a player here.

It's taken this long to jump on board @KozzyCan Welcome.

Excellent training report. If Mihocek is ready, do you see all four of him, van Rooyen, Jefferson and Heath all playing in the one team? If not, who misses?

I dont unfortunately. i think its 2/4 3 if we really want to stretch defences - its a bit like how the Doggies want to setup with the "3-headed dragon". Most of the time it just doesnt work as the game is just not setup to have that many talls sitting in a forward line.

However i do think we will rotate these players in throughout the season. Heath and Jeffo likely Casey starters for mine and hopefully Kingy will drop and promote players on form. Im not expecting much this year from the team, so this is the exact thing we should be doing...giving Jeffo a bank of 5 games for example. He really needs to do something this year for mine, to get a contract extension. He needs to snag at least 20 goals for mine, otherwise delist.

I've been on board since his games against West Coast and the Dogs last year but it was a small sample size. His VFL Semi-final performance and everything we're hearing and seeing this pre-season is just reinforcing my belief. Fully expect him to be playing every week this season.

The start time is listed as 10am but this season they have been starting at 9:00 or 9:30am. It’s not because of the weather, the sessions still run ‘til midday and even later for some players.

Who cares? What’s that got to do with his role in the side in 2026? Pat on the back because of a game he played in five years ago? Chandler is a better player in 2026 and that’s all that matters

Poor old West Coast, crying out for talent and they let a gem just walk out the door for nothing in return.

😂😂😂

WIth King's apparent round 1 "clean slate" it wouldn't shock me if Sparrow's not in it.

A nice-ish handy player that's become a part of the furniture and has only managed 20+ touches in 8 of his last 50 games.

He tantalised us all with a 23ish possession 3 goal game in a 2024 pre season game V Carlton but couldn't parlay that A grade level into home and away form.

I like that he can take a strong grab (his point of difference as a player of his size) as that high forward outlet but I want more.

IMO Sparrow is top 26-28 but not necessary top 24

But, that is just my opinion, just as 🪧🤺 has his.

He has been in the 22 week in week out for 5 years, i think he might of been dropped once

They have often strayed a started a little early right? Might aim for 930am — can’t wait

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
