Funny how Pies training session made 7 & 9 news Friday night with Nick Daicos starring and no mention of our boys even on the MFC website. We need to do much much more if we are to encourage our supporters back to the G.

Brisbane’s training session was all over the news too. But the focus was on one player in particular… the wholesome and upstanding dual Brownlow medallist, dual premiership player, multiple club B&F winner, club captain and all-round Mr Nice Guy.

Radar.

Under.

Can't give you any more if fans are locked out of Casey. Thought the Club was going to focus on improved Member Engagement....?

It can't be that hard.

As a matter of interest, are the public kept out of the Casey ground by the club or by the ground manager? There might be good reasons why the ground manager keeps the public out, such as cost, public liability, etc.

Nick Daicos was actually sick and walking around away from the others. Don't think he was starring on his slow walk.

No culture problems at that Club. Only ours.

It’s a combination of the two. The club prefers to keep prying eyes out of range because Casey is where they practice game plans and positional changes etc.

But it’s also Ground Management. They don’t employ people on those days to clean toilets or any cleaning in general. They also don’t hire security personnel either which they do on scheduled open training (family days) and match days.

Nice to see a photo gallery and training video up on the MFC website this afternoon, boys are looking fit, tanned and moving the ball smoothly, Culley is the one to watch have my fingers crossed for him.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
