The tall former Eagle was added to Melbourne's list at the final moment after Andy Moniz-Wakefield suffered his season-ending ACL injury. Following a solid season at VFL level, he earned a senior debut late in the year in the midfield against his old side. His form was impressive, and he will remain with the Demons, with the prospect of lots more football at the elite level.

His game against Frankston showed that he's got weapons to be a pretty handy tall forward.

Culley has a bit to work on regarding his defensive workrate and positioning, but nothing that can't be fixed with a full pre season with the team.

He clearly has some traits that are very exciting and which give him an excellent chance of becoming a long term AFL player, particularly his size and marking.

Jai clearly has talent and shows strength and versatility and marks well above his height.

I am looking forward to him as a midfielder, wing or HF.

Work hard Jai - you can play a huge role in us getting where we want.

A real positive to end the season with. I can see him being a Blake Acres type wingman but perhaps more damaging forward. Aerially very strong and nice kick.

One of the positives gleaned from 2025.

Can play, with raw talent that will only benefit from a solid preseason.

Best of all, he looks like he really wants to be out there, and if we have a team full of that sort of enthusiasm, we will improve very quickly.

He’s been a passionate Demon all his life. I’m not saying that makes him a better player but geez it doesn’t hurt. He doesn’t have to cultivate a red and blue heart, he’s always had one ❤️💙

Excellent signs in the handful of games he played, think he's got a bright future.

Just a wild idea, why could Jai be a key forward for us, loves a big grab as we have already seen.

Bigger than almost all our other supposed key forwards.

Just as a reference, Logan Morris for Brisbane is 191cm, Jai is 194cm.

JVR, Jai, Fritter, Jefferson/Kentfield, Kozzie, Chandler, Trac or another small and thats a forward line you could get some goals out of.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
