Surely we'd have to look at this for the Oliver pick?

I posted specifically about this in the Florent thread, but he was identified by Melbourne as a potential target of interest for us earlier in the year. No clue on whether that was enduring, fleeting, or more of a scenario based interest; but given we've publicly said we are after another midfielder if the right player is available, I wonder if we may turn out head towards him?

Carlton knocked back the offer from the Swans. Do we swoop in an offer #7 for Florent?

No......

I got called a troll for saying we met with him days ago lol

Yes, that was me and I apologise… however, in my defence, there’s still no mention of us making an approach, just that other clubs are showing interest; I’d love to see us take him.

Jesus he's not worth pick 7

Not a Dees rumour. But I think De Goey will be a saint kilda player by 7.30 tonight. Could be horribly wrong however.

I’m a bit confused with this years trade period.

People are saying that picks even 7,8 are bad and comprised. If that’s the case, wouldn’t we use them for players like Florent or otherwise who are a known subsidy.

I’d happily get rid of Trac if we can get a few medium/top rated players (obviously won’t be getting a champion).

De Goey should retire, his body is made of glass. Hasn’t done anything in years.

Not worth the wasted space on a list.

12:12 today Tracc will be a SUNS supporter and at 12:13 Oliver will be a GWS supporter.

AWST, I take it? Trades can’t go through until 3.00PM AEDST today.

Not a rumour, but I read today that GWS would delist Conor Stone and re-rookie him as they juggle their tight list spots with Oliver coming in and Aleer unexpectedly staying.

Now being petty isn't a sound list management strategy, but it would bring me some level of joy if we pinched him from them in the rookie draft.

Demon Stone? I like the sound of that.

Oli Florent is a jet! I'd love to get him if the price is right. Would Melbourne do a 3 way trade with Sydney and GWS?

GWS - Get Oliver

Sydney - Get a 3rd round pick from GWS

Melbourne - Get Florent

I doubt Sydney would take unders for Florent but it may get the deal for Curnow across the line with more picks.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
