August 5, 2025Aug 5 When Goody had Gawn on his shoulders & vise versa at the grand final after party, now thereโs a memory.
August 5, 2025Aug 5 With one or two unfortunate possible exceptions, @Demonland, can the contents of this thread be gift-wrapped and find their way to Simon?
August 5, 2025Aug 5 At worst, a WAFL Mickey Mouse premiership coach. At best, the man who gave us everything we ever dreamed of. And yet all dreams must come to an end eventually. I salute the dream; for what is sport, but dreams made manifest? Thank you Goody. We'll meet you further on up the road. Edited August 5, 2025Aug 5 by Chook
August 5, 2025Aug 5 I love this thread.I am a 65yo Demons supporter who, until 2021, was beginning to wonder if he'd live to savour a premiership (being too young in 1964 to understand). Simon Goodwin has my deepest respect and gratitude for building on the work of Roos and Jackson to make us relevant for several years and finally to win that elusive premiership. Thank you.SG achieved these goals with humility, good humour and the well-deserved respect of the players, administration and supporters.
August 5, 2025Aug 5 Goody delivered us a gift that had been missing from all our lives and most of us thought would never occur. From the bottom of my heart, thankyou!

August 5, 2025Aug 5 For all the talk about the embarrassing loss against St Kilda recently, in 2021 we were 44 points down halfway through the 3rd quarter against Geelong in the final match of the season. The Saints game was a dead rubber between two teams who weren't in contention for finals, that match against Geelong was to decide who finishes top of ladder. It was the most important game in two decades for the club until that point. We all know what happened. I shed a tear when Max kicked the goal after the siren.Goody has given us some incredible highs as well as the lows. Will forever be thankful. On to the next chapter now.
