Good news about beamer, just hope they're not rushing him back!

Good news about beamer, just hope they're not rushing him back!

I hope they give Moloney, Rivers and Bartram the rest of the year off. What's the point in rushing them back, given their injury problems, when the year is already gone?

None of them are fighting to stay at the club, as when fit, they are quite clearly in our best 22.

Better than it's been this season. The comments on Injury Update regarding Rivers and Moloney aren't great though, and seem to raise a query over their return ETA.

Very disappointing that Bartram is looking like missing most of the season after having such a great start in '06. I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

also seems odd that neitz would have a test for his finger injury, either it's a smoke screen or it's a decent bloody finger injury, the man is a machine for crying out loud

Selection of Newton might come down to Neita's fitness.

I'd love to see them both play alongside Robbo, Bate and Sylvia, but I don't think we'll go that way.

We already struggle when the ball hits the deck in the forward line, particularly with Davey being played up the ground.

The interesting thing about injury lists is the comparison between us and our opponents this weekend:-

ESSENDON:

Courtenay Dempsey (hamstring) - test

Dean Dick (arm) - 2 weeks

Jay Neagle (foot) - 3 weeks

MELBOURNE:

Ben Holland (nose) - test

Travis Johnstone (Achilles) - test

Brent Moloney (groin) - test

Dempsey, Dick and Neagle would have played a handful of games between them while our injury list tallies hundreds of AFL games experience.

    Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill.     BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
