It's funny because the first one never came through.

Ahh bugger!

Well hopefully you’ll get my drift from the second one

Just started listing to the podcast, I’m 19 minutes in and when Binman said rivers had a good player rating, I nearly threw up!

It shows me how rubbish this player ratings system is. The amount of horrible clangers “Trent” had.

I’ve defended “Trent” to a mate for years. But I’ve had enough. This guy is hopeless.

Find me a stat for how many times he [censored] himself and hospital handballs it to a team “mate” or when he takes 6 years to realise he has to kick it, or when he’s out & handballs back to a mate into traffic.

You’ve got a a cannon for a leg!! [censored] USE IT for The Dees or go be Punter in the NFL, because it’s painful to watch at the moment!

I encourage anyone to go watch “Trents” youtube highlights of 2021 and you’ll be shocked of how indecisive he is now.

Why doesn’t Goodwin give Fullarton a run Seems to be kicking goals in the twos

I have been asking this for months Rhino. After Jefferson was injured last week I thought he was the next best option. But alas played for Casey.

Yeh, but that's the podcast and binman for you!

Stats are all that matters! Player ratings, statistics about workrate and a constant cycle of conversation around the demonland hot topics, 'fitness and injury'.

I suggest supporters look and listen to Jordan Lewis' observations from 'on the couch' the other night about us. Sums all there is to sum up in about 5 mins!

I fact, I'd implore the podcast panel to watch too if they haven't.

Windsor is expected to be back this week - was back in boots on Friday. Also Kosi, Lever and Spargo - hard to imagine all of them not coming in together with Turner. You can probably guess the omissions and Lindsay, of course, will not play.

Please regard the following as facts - not excuses (having watched a lot of training):

  1. The "new game plan" (seemingly in deep demand by 99% of Demonlanders) was developed over the summer on the basis of having McVee and Windsor running off half-back (both excellent users). Imagine them in the first three rounds with May, Lever, Bowey and Petty down back. We have never had that full formation this year (but will have it, minus only McVee, on Friday night).

  2. Rivers has trained all off-season as a mid, with Sparrow playing a high half-forward role. Both have had to revert to their old roles - on two occasions the role changes were required in the first quarter due to injury (lost Jefferson, then Lindsay).

  3. Re the mid-field, we have not been able to have the rotations through there that have been trained - mainly due to the number of injuries, and the absence of Kosi (oh how we have missed him!).

  4. Re the forward line - do they get a mulligan because of the above (Goody gave them one on Saturday - just 40 inside 50's).

  5. Fritsch playing high has not worked due to all of the above and the lack of form JVR deep. But our oppo defences have had an easy time of it. It makes a lot of difference if the other elements: defence, transition and mid-field are functioning.

Hopefully this helps if Binman wants to provide Andy with some "light" at the end of this dark tunnel. 🙂

Valuable information HW, thanks

What you have said still worries me to a point. Injuries are part of the game. Rarely will all our guns be available for long stretches.

Goodwin therefore must have backup plans ready to go. That’s a big part of his job, Flexibility under duress

No matter what gameplan we are using, the lack of basic skills on show has been appalling for the last 2 weeks.

Training standards must lift across the board

Watch Saturday’s game. Players jogging around pointing fingers at one another. Not good enough….

Another fantastic pod fellas. It’s obviously a very tough gig given our horrible start to the season, but you continue to front up with a very enjoyable and balanced program. Well done and thank you!

We are all different, and each to their own. Personally, I love the ‘stats files’ and relating these details to the performance of the team we all love.

Full disclosure. I love your analysis, but I just think alot of these ratings are boosted by junktime stats.

Ie to use a cricket terminology. What do you value more. 30 runs against a new ball or 30 runs from a tailender when the balls dead and the games over?

Bar McVee, we should be back to pretty much a top 23 on Friday night - so let's see, and fingers crossed we don't lose anyone in the first quarter.

Cannot comment on training standards as the main session each week is at (a closed) Casey - at Gosch's we see just "flush" and Captain's runs.

Just listened to the podcast and like to thank Andy, Binman and George plus all contributors. A great listen but also very sobering I also was very disappointed with our efforts over the past two weeks so have modified my expectations for the rest of ‘25.
